News Round-Up: October 31

Happy Halloween from the Administrators of Twilight Coven Philippines!

If you're in Manila and you have nothing to do tonight, drop by the Hard Rock Café Makati for an awesome Halloween Party!

And now, before my Google Chrome goes "Awww, snap!", let's do today's Twilight News Round-Up:

Yesterday, we reported that Empire Magazine will have a feature on Twilight in its new issue, and now Empire Online has videos from the photoshoot with the cast, as well as some outtake photos. Click here for more eye candy (trick or treat!). BAE also has scans of the actual magazine here. Empire Magazine is locally available in Fully Booked, Bufini, and Mag:Net stores.

Catherine Hardwicke, Rob Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart were at the 2008 Rome Film Festival to promote Twilight. There are a ton of photos from the red carpet (here) and the photocall (here) at Everglow's galleries. Take a look!

The Twilight Lexicon is reporting that the Italian version of ComingSoon.net has a lot of coverage of Twilight in the Rome Film Fest. The video of the Q&A with Catherine, Rob, and Kristen is here, while a translation and description of the scenes is here, courtesy of BadTaste.it. The new footage that was promised is reported to be the one of Bella meeting the Cullens, which continues on to the Clair de Lune segment in Edward's room, and the Spider Monkey scene. They also showed the ballet studio segment that we've already seen from Comic Con.

For today's installment of the LA Times Countdown to Twilight, they unveil excerpts from their interview with Robert Pattinson. Rob talks about his fans and says that they're "always kind of nice". Why, that's just nice of you, Rob. You guys read it, if you meet Rob in the streets, come up to him! ;) Click here for the full article.

Entertainment Weekly has a list of 15 Holiday Movies We Can't Wait To See. Naturally, Twilight is included.

Rotten Tomatoes has a compilation of all the movie stills and posters that have been officially released so far. View their Twilight gallery here.

hey. this is one scene that they showed in Rome. It's pretty amazing. :))
(this is only SCENE 1) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IBJPQNGazS4

    SCENE 1 - CULLEN'S HOUSE
Edward brings Bella to his house, where he lives with the other members of the Cullen Clan. Bella tries to open the car door, but Edward rushes (as only a vampire can) to the door and opens it for her: a real gentleman.
As soon as she enters the Cullens' home, Bella notices how tidy it is: bright, tastefully furnished and beautiful. They enter the kitchen and find the Cullens cooking lunch, but just for Bella - vampires don't eat normal food. Funnily, Bella says she already ate.
Rosalie, the most beautiful but also the most petulant in the whole family, is offended; she argues that by mixing with Bella the Cullens might find themselves in danger. This adds a lot of tension, and Rosalie breaks a dish she has in her hand.
Alice and Jasper are much kinder towards Bella, and Alice tells her that they'll be best friends. To defuse tension, Edward takes Bella upstairs to his room: the room is very beautiful and tidy, but there is no bed. Bella is taken aback, but Edward explains that he never sleeps. The two of them listen to Debussy's Clair de lune, they try to dance, but Bella doesn't know how to dance. Edward makes her climb on his shoulders and takes her out the window, climbing up a tree: she is amazed and incredulous, the camera moves all around the tree following them as they climb. The scene ends with Bella and Edward sitting at the piano: he plays her lullaby; the lighting in this scene is very soft, very romantic.

The other scene which I may not seem to find.

SCENE 2 - BELLA IN DANGER
One of the final sequences, we've seen bits of it in the trailer and the Comic-Con clip. It's the assault: Bella arrives iTwilightn the ballroom, following her mother's voice, only to find it's actually a videotape of herself as a child with Renéé. James explains he wants to tape what's going to happen now as well, just to make Edward jealous. Bella tries to dissuade him but James, scathing as ever, says he wants to break Edward's heart. Bella tries to flee, but James flies over her and catches her, breaking her ankle and telling her to shout as loud as she can. Suddenly Edward arrives, and he and Bella try to escape. James then bites Bella's wrist to transform her into a vampire; the scene ends with a close-up of the wound on Bella's wrist.

    Some BACKSTAGE SCENES:
Then an interesting backstage was shown: the actors were interviewed during filming, and explained many of the scenes they were shooting. TwilightThey showed the set where the kitchen scene was filmed, and then the one of the attack scene: it was the first scene filmed, and the most difficult - which, Hardwicke said, was quite ironic. In the book the scene was very simple and minimal, Hardwicke filmed it with much more action. The only problem was deciding how a Vampire can be killed!
In the scene where Bella tells Edward she knows he's a vampire, Robert Pattinson explained that his character is forced to admit it and then tries to frighten Bella because he wants her to stay away from him: he wants her to forget him and save herself from danger.
Stephenie Meyer said that her favorite scenes are the meadow ones, because they are the most exciting: it's in that meadow that all began. She explained that the idea of Twilight books was born during a dream: She dreamt of people standing in a meadow, and decided to write the books to discover what happened to those people.

    JUST HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!
    Can't wait for the movie!!!
