Fan Feedback: New Moon Promotional Events

We all know that New Moon is only a few months from now, and while the administrators of Twilight Coven Philippines are thinking (and dreaming) of activities on TCP's end to celebrate the release of the film, we want to hear YOUR comments and suggestions! So what we're asking is:

If we were to celebrate the release of the New Moon film, what kind of activities would you like to have?

And thought your gut instinct tells you to say an advanced screening/premiere, do let us know of other possible activities, big or small, unless you're willing to give us money for a premiere ;) Post away in the comments section of this entry :D

We're not promising that we'll be able to put up a grand event or execute all of your suggestions. For now, we really just want to know what you want. But rest assured that we will give this our best shot and we will try to organize something so that we can celebrate the movie together.

Fan Report: Filipino Twilight Fan in Montepulciano Shoot

(This is again another delayed post so apologies to those who have been waiting for it :D )

Here in TCP we always get excited whenever we hear stories from Pinoy fans regarding any amazing Twilight experience. The latest you've heard about was the two lucky Filipinos who got to meet the Twilight cast (and won the raffle to meet Rob face to face) during the Twilight promotional tour in Tokyo a few months ago. Now, here's another Pinoy Twilight experience I'm sure we'll all be envious about: Amala Thea (Jacke), a TCP member who is now based in Italy, got to be an EXTRA in the Montepulciano shoot!

She and other Twilight fans got together and went to Montepulciano hoping to see the production and of course catch anyone from the cast. What they did not expect is that they just got there in time for recruiting the volunteers to be extras in the movie.

Extras being called. We were grouped into 50s or more, as usual we stayed behind. When we were directed to the Piazza, we were at awe to see that our spot is in the very front of the church is near the baldacchino (bal-dah-ki-noh)- where the statue of St. Marcus is placed to be carried around - and the people doing the noble procession. The 4 of us were smiling, staring knowingly at each other that we have a big chance to be seen on the silver screen. LOL I know that is a very shallow thought but who doesn't want to be seen in a movie, especially in his/her favorite one? I was like, "I have an identifying mark girls!" Since we need to wear our hoods, there is no way to identify ourselves unless your hood accidentally drop or you have an identifying mark. (I have a white bandage on my left wrist which I use to wave my little flag I know it is not that big but who knows right?) Along the way, I noticed there are like 4 designs of the coat of arms. I was actually expecting they will make a coat of arms in honor of St. Marcus, just like the Cullen's coat of arms

Kristen's double, Azzura, came forward. She is pretty and petite and looks quite well like Kristen from afar. Azzura is doing Bella's run from the alley to the fountain for the extras to know where and when should they open and close the path. The real Kristen arrived wearing dark green long-sleeved shirt, she gave a short wave to the extras. First shot of the day will be Bella's run and they rehearsed with Kristen for like 3 times. All we have to do was wave those little red flags, allegria... allegria!!! Chris Weitz was also there going in and out of the crowd. Bella's run was shot for like 5 times, I think. After each take, Kristen apologetically walked up to the crowd, saying sorry for those who she have had pushed so hard just to get through. It was really nice of her, really. Had it been another, maybe that actress might not have even stopped.

Get to read Amala Thea's experience (including the part where they painstakingly try to not peek at shirtless Rob during filming) in her detailed account, along with the pictures from Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4 from her Montepulciano trip. You can see her encounters with some of the cast members, the yellow Porsche (we screamed when we saw this w/ the TCP logo, hehe), and the sites used for filming.

Thanks to Amala Thea and her friends for sharing their experiences and photos, not to mention bringing the roving TCP logo to the shoot (we'd like to pretend that the logo traveled from Seattle to Montepulciano).

News Round-Up: 17 April 2009

MTV got confirmation from Drew Barrymore herself that, though she was one of several directors who were being considered to direct Eclipse, ultimately, she wasn't the one who was chosen.

MTV's Larry Carroll asks the question "Is there any truth to all the tales of Twilight-related violence on the web?" Larry has asked Twilight fans to share their experiences. This article comes at the heels of all the reports from other sites who have picked up the stories being posted at the Twilight Sucks site. [I've seen that message board. Sigh. No comment.   -CdL]

It's a girl for Cam Gigandet and Dominique Geissendorf! Congrats! [We're sure Mabs is happy for them too. ;)   -CdL]

The Deadbolt had a Vancouver encounter with Peter Facinelli. [OMC, Peter should win that award some group gives to actors who are very accommodating of fans. I forgot what it's called, but I remember Johnny Depp won it several times.   -CdL]

Entertainment Tonight visited the New Moon set, and they've posted a teaser video for the feature which will air April 23 in the U.S. Watch for it locally on 2nd Avenue on April 24th.

Well, this is interesting. E! Online interviewed Alex Meraz at the Armani Exchange party. And I guess the "Rob smells" thing isn't over and done with for them yet, so they asked Alex if it was true. Apparently, when Alex first met Rob, here's what happened:

ALEX to ROB: Dude, you smell fantastic!
ROB: *blushes, does the hair thing*

This is probably going to fuel some Paul/Edward fanfics or something. LOL. Watch the short clip here.

Oh, and if you haven't gotten enough of Alex today (we're sure you haven't), Access Hollywood sent us another video of him talking about life on set:

Again, thanks so much to Rachel of Access Hollywood for this. :)

News Round-Up: 1 April 2009

This one's for the ladies... and Twilight Gay, of course: Celebuzz has an article listing 7 Things We Need To Know About Alex Meraz. Click the link, and please try not to stop breathing. :p

LaineyGossip has some photos of Kristen and Taylor on-set. [Oh dear. I think I like Kristen's wig from Twilight better.   -CdL]

Kristen was interviewed by The LA Times, where she commented on how different New Moon is from Twilight.

Another indication of how scary the Twilight fandom can be for the people involved in the franchise: Rene Haynes, the casting director for New Moon, has been getting emails and phone calls from fans around the world... even at 3 A.M.! Yikes. She doesn't want to upset the fans, so she's been very cordial to everyone. [Personally, I wish some fans would be more respectful of the Cast and Crew. *sigh* 3AM?! Seriously?! There is a free time-zone calculator online, ya know?  -CdL]

Take time out to participate in a Twilight-related survey

Melissa Click from the University of Missouri sent us an email requesting us to post their call for participants in a Twilight-related survey. Dr. Click and her colleagues are media researchers who are studying the Twilight cultural phenomenon. If you're interested in participating, please click the link below for more details.

Hi Twilight fans!

We are a group of media researchers (and Twilight devotees) at the University of Missouri-Columbia who are interested in researching the cultural phenomenon known as Twilight.

We invite you to participate in our Twilight Survey. If you are 18 or older, you can take our survey through this link: www.surveymonkey.com/twilightmoms. If you are under 18, you will need to ask the permission of your parent or guardian, and s/he will be sent a code via email that will allow you to enter the survey. Please ask your parent or guardian to email Elizabeth Behm-Morawitz at behmmorawitze@missouri.edu to give their consent for you to participate and to receive the code. Once you have the code, you can take our survey through this link: www.surveymonkey.com/twilightteens.

On the survey, you will be asked to answer questions regarding your personality, relationship history, your interpretation of the characters and relationships in the Twilight saga, your fan activities, and finally your basic demographics. The entire survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time.

To repay your favor of filling out our survey, we will enter you into a lottery to win one of three $50 Amazon gift cards. At the end of our data collection, we will randomly select three participants to win the gift card.

The risks to participating in this research study are expected to be no greater than those encountered in ordinary, everyday life. In fact, you have likely talked about the topics we will ask you about with your friends or in online discussion forums. The benefits to participating in this research study include the opportunity to get exposure to the research process and to take part in an academic study that will contribute to the understanding of fans' connection to Twilight.

The data from this study will be kept anonymous. Your personal information, including your name, will not be connected to the data you provide, unless you indicate at the end of the survey that you would be willing to be interviewed over the phone or in person. Interviews will be conducted at a later date.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the study, please contact us at aubreyj@missouri.edu. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant, contact University of Missouri Campus Institutional Review Board at (573) 882-9585.

Thanks for your consideration!

NEW MOON PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY UPDATES: Twilight Gossip has photos of Bella's truck with the old motorcycles she will bring to Jacob for rehab. Click here to see the pics. Spoiler TV has some set photos from the cliff diving scene shoots at Incinerator Rock in Tofino, British Columbia. The Canadian Press also has a substantial report about the shoot at Tofino here.

Twilighters Italia has confirmation from the Tourism Association of Montepulciano in Italy that New Moon will be shooting there from May 25 to May 30. There has been talk from a few weeks back that Montepulciano will serve as an alternative location for the Volterra scenes in New Moon. Montepulciano's architecture looks a lot like Volterra's, and it's possible that the city has more resources to cater to a film crew as large as New Moon's compared to Volterra. Montepulciano is apparently also more accessible. Twilighters Italia's report adds that it is still possible certain scenes will be shot in Volterra itself. Click here to see photos of Montepulciano (the report is in Italian).

Eyes of Amber has a feature about a Twilight-inspired car.

Summit Home Entertainment made a killing at the US home video sales charts with 3 million units of the Twilight home video release sold on the first day! Click here for the official press release.

Amazon.com is selling a 2010 Robert Pattinson Wall Calendar. Oh, man, 1/2 of another Oracles of Danag prophecy comes true. *facepalm*

News Round-Up: 21 March 2009

Film.com has a great review of the Twilight DVD here. [Now if only we were all as lucky to hear the commentaries and see the full documentary. <_<   -CdL]

Why do girls fall all over Rob Pattinson? Kellan Lutz has the answers!

LaineyGossip is reporting that Taylor, Kristen and Rachelle are now shooting the cliff diving scene.

Stephenie Meyer is a candidate for the 2009 Time 100, which is Time Magazine's annual list of the Most Influential People in the World. As of this writing, Steph is at #87. Click here to vote for her and the other candidates. Thanks to Elizabeth for the tip.

Here's a story that will make you go "What the Hale?!" (although the folks at Gawker went WTF?!). Text messages started spreading across several states in the U.S. warning that gangs will shoot at teenagers who will line up at midnight to get their copies of the Twilight DVD. Say it with me: What the Hale?!?! And you thought text messaging hoaxes are in vogue only in the Philippines. :p Click here to read the story. Thank you, Ronald!

Amy of Creation Entertainment, organizers of the 2009 Twi-Tour San Francisco, sent us links to videos from Twi-Tour. Since most of us Pinoys couldn't be there to attend, let's head on over to YouTube to watch what happened. Here's a list of the videos:
- Peter Facinelli and Billy Burke - "Don't Whisper into Charlie's Ear!" | "Waxing Philosophical" | "Can I Have Your Gum?" | "Cologne?" | "This Better Be Good, Jenay"
- Kellan Lutz - "Loves K-Names" | "Kellan Runs Like Edward Cullen" | "Why Did Rob Flip You Off?" | "Kellan Will/Has Changed Lives" |
- Jackson Rathbone & Ashley Greene - "Porsche's and Papercuts" | Crowd & Jackson sing Happy Birthday to Ashley Greene | Jackson does the Happy Dance! | "3 Wishes" | Ashley clears up the whole "Taylor rumor"

Thank you to Amy for sending us the links!

HerWord.com has a local Twilight promo. Answer a trivia question on Twilight at HerWord.com and sign up for membership for a chance to win Twilight DVDs and VCDs. Visit the site from March 20-31 to qualify. Thanks to Denise for the info.

News Round-Up: 13 March 2009

Before Google Chrome decides I've opened too many tabs and crash, let's round-up today's Twilight news and relieve Chrome of the stress. :)

Style.com has posted the full article about Rob Pattinson that appears on the latest issue of GQ, entitled "He's Hot, He's Sexy, He's Undead". Click the link to read and to see more photos from his GQ photoshoot. [I've always loved GQ's feature articles. Their write-up on Robert Downey Jr. was fantastic! This one isn't any different. You see a very different side of Rob that other articles don't focus much on. The next person I want on GQ is, of course, Peter Facinelli... oh, what the heck, do a feature on all the men of Twilight! It'll be exciting to find out what a day with Edi Gathegi will be like. -CdL]

Twilight is nominated for Best Fantasy Film in the 35th Saturn Awards presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films. Twilight is up against pretty stiff competition (with no less than The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in the list), so keep your fingers crossed.

Twilight Italia is asking everyone to sign a petition for Summit to shoot the last part of New Moon in Volterra. They present a very convincing case, showing us in photos in videos the real places that Stephenie Meyer wrote about, including the alleyway where Bella finds Edward, the dead end with the manhole, the subterranean tunnels, the Clock Tower at Piazza del Priori, and more. Click here to learn more about the petition and to see photos and videos. [Normally, we would say that online petitions don't work, but I certainly hope this one does! -CdL]

Variety has also joined the ranks of the sites confirming that Juan Antonio Bayona has been chosen by Summit to direct Eclipse. While Variety is a very reliable source, nothing is really confirmed until Summit posts an official press release.  UPDATE 11:35am - Well, what do you know! I did say it's not confirmed unless Summit says so, right? Well the LA Times spoke to Erik Feig himself, the president of Summit, and he says that they haven't offered the Eclipse job to anyone. He adds that nobody even bothered to ask them if this is true before running the story (we're looking at you, Nikki Finke!) Thanks, Twilight Lex!

Examiner.com looks into the Twilight fandom and answers the question "Does Twilight appeal only to teens?" [Well, we've known for a while now that it appeals to a much wider demographic than that! After all, the TCP Admins are working professionals, we have a bunch of Twilight guys and moms, and we even have a Twilight Gay! -CdL]

Forbes.com has listed the 10 of Hollywood's Most Valuable Young Stars, and The Twilight Saga newcomer Dakota Fanning secured the #3 spot behind Daniel Radcliffe and Miley Cyrus.

InStyle went shopping with Ashley Greene!

BuddyTV lists 10 suggestions to ensure we get an awesome New Moon movie. [I would agree regarding the Volturi, but only the part about the audience feeling the threat they impose. I'd rather not see them looking like they're typical horror film vampires. If Rosenberg and Weitz are any good, they will give us something new but very effective. -CdL]

E! Online features a new video where the "Twilight Villains Talk New Moon".

In Episode 12 of the Danag Podcast, we mentioned Pocket Edward. We also mentioned that everyone seems to be working out, except for Rob. Well, at least Pocket Edward is working out enough for two people - himself and Life-Size Edward. There's even sparkly work-out equipment involved!

Spoiler TV has posted a LOT of photos from the set of New Moon. It looks like the pics were taken during dress rehearsals down in Vancouver. Peter is blonde again [poor Peter, I hope that's a wig. No matter, he still looks fabulous. -CdL], Jackson's hair is looking good [maybe because he's now actually bald and they don't have to deal with his real hair -CdL], Ashley's back in the short wig [uh, I kinda like the Twilight wig better... -CdL], Kellan's hair is dark again, Rob's hair is looking good [Dear make-up people, please don't touch Rob's hair. kthnxbai. -CdL], Taylor has that long wig again [ugh, they didn't change it! When he "cuts" his hair in the story, please don't slick it back, make-up people! We love Taylor's regular hair. -CdL], and the biggest surprise is Nikki's new blonde wig [Okay, I think I like Nikki's real hair dyed blonde than this wig. It looks really fake, and doesn't seem to suit her looks. -CdL]. And since I've said way too much already, just click that link above to view the pics for yourselves. Let us know what you think by posting a comment. :)

Kristen speaks about the Nylon feature backlash

Collider.com interviewed Kristen Stewart recently about her upcoming movie, The Cake Eaters. They also took the time to ask Kristen about the recent backlash due to her interview with Nylon Magazine.

"I love the Twilight fans. I have literally never said anything remotely negative about them."

She also talked about Bella in New Moon. Click here to read the full story.

Fan Report: Twilight Red Carpet and Fan Event in Japan

Twilight Coven Philippines newbies Abee and Nina were in Japan for the Twilight premiere. Nina was lucky enough to be one of the few fans chosen to meet Robert, Kristen, and Taylor. Abee sent us this report:

The Kodakawa Entertainment Corp, were the organizers of the event. They have this promo for those Fans to send email and luckily we were chosen out of 2,000 applicants to attend the said event. Ang sabi nila 75 persons lang ang pinili because 1 invitation is good for 2 people. Yung friend ko actually na si Nina, was the "fanatic" between us.

On the day ng event, Nina and I arrived at Ebisu Garden Place around 11AM and there are fans in queue for the Red Carpet which will happen in the afternoon. We claimed our IDs for the fan meeting and ang mga organizers din and nag provide ng Philippine Flag sa amin. Weather did not cooperate in the event, umulan, super malamig at nag snow ng konti. Pero hindi yun nagpapigil sa mga tao para mag line, which we did too around 2pm. And we met some Filipinos too who are there for the Red Carpet (which is by the way FREE for Fans).

Red Carpet took place around 4:30pm, nawalan yata kami ng pakiramdam sa paa dahil sa lamig plus the fact na pinatanggal pa ng mga oraganizers and mga payong. Madali lang natapos ang Red Carpet walk then we went directly to Ebisu Garden Hall for the Fan Meeting.

During the Fan Meeting, sinabi ng Emcee na there are Fans from all over the world. 4 from US and Philippines, etc. There are those who flew to Japan just for the Fan Meeting and Red Carpet event. Then they have this surprise lottery for 20 fans, tinawag ang mga corresponding seat number which was lucky enough na seat ni Nina ang nakuha. Then they have this red rope na pinahawak sa kanila and if your rope end ay hawak ng Cast then you have the chance to meet and greet with them. Which luckily si Nina din ang isa sa mga nakuha, she got the "one in a million" chance to meet them and autograph session of course.

You can find the rest of Abee and Nina's photos at our Multiply account here.

Thanks so much to Abee and Nina for sending in their story!

In a previous post, we reported that NECA is coming up with an Edward and Bella action figure set which is due out on May 2009. There are now pictures from a recent Toy Fair of an Alice Cullen action figure, also due out this year. Click here for a better view of Alice's face, and here for more photos of other NECA Twilight merchandise. Please remember that this is just a prototype figure and some details may change when it's finally released.

HitFlix.com is confirming that Rob Pattinson will be a presenter at the 81st Academy Awards, which will be airing this coming Sunday in the U.S., and Monday morning (Feb. 23) in the Philippines via ABS-CBN.

If you're planning a trip to Japan sometime next month, better plan it around the time that Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be there to promote Twilight. :)

Just for fun: A law student on Livejournal wanted to take a little break from studying for the Bar Exam and decided to list the crimes that the Cullens have committed.

Passages: Twilight Mania in the Philippines

Passages, the quarterly publication for reading educators by National Bookstore, has a feature about Twilight mania in the Philippines in their January 2009 issue. Twilight Coven Philippines is also mentioned.

Thanks to elsbet for sending in the scan, and thanks to Passages for the mention. :)

Gas cap of Bella's pick-up stolen in Forks

You KNOW it could only have been a super super Twilight fanatic. Who else would steal the gas cap from "Bella's Pick-up" that sits in front of Forks Visitor Center?

Oh, wait. It could've been an enterprising *insert expletive here*.

Dress Up Rob Pattinson!

Admit it: some of you have often fantasized about getting to dress up Rob Pattinson whenever you thought his fashion sense is going downhill.

Well, here's your chance! Or at least, here's your chance to dress up a doll version of Rob.

Stardoll allows you to dress up a likeness of Rob, complete with his old hairdo. :p There are different types of clothes to choose from and I'm sure you will all have lots of fun playing around with Rob... oops, uh, that didn't sound... uh... I mean, you will surely have lots of fun playing around with different clothing styles for Rob. ;)

The only thing I find wrong about this is... I don't think the real Rob has abs like those. [ducks as shoes and tomatoes are thrown her way by the Rob fans]

Click HERE to go to the Stardoll site.

p.s. If you're so inclined, do post a screencap of your favorite Rob Doll Get-up in the comments! :)

TCP'S Happy Cullen Christmas Party: A Big Thank You to Everyone!

Thank you to all of those who went to TCP's Happy Cullen Christmas Party last December 20 at KFC Megamall. We had a blast meeting all of you and having the opportunity to celebrate the holidays with fellow Pinoy Twilighters. We will post pictures and a event report on it in the site.

We apologize to everyone who were not informed of this event since we need to limit the attendees for logistical reasons. We hope to meet you all again in future TCP events.

Big thanks to TCP member Sesomnhoj, Ms. Kristine of Warner Music Philippines, and Ms. Isa of Hachette Book Group (Philippines) for providing the prizes for the games. We hope everyone enjoyed the party and have a happy Cullen Christmas ahead!

Twilight Coven Philippines Administrators

P.S. There has been a mix up and KFC was not able to serve a part of the meal that was planned (i.e. the bbq chicken burger), so we sincerely apologize to anyone who felt that the meal was lacking (we surely thought so!). Sorry, we just have to say it because it was frustrating when we were appraised of the matter AFTER the event.

P.P.S. For those who were asking who were informed about the party... It was posted at the TCP Forums, since that is where the official members of the Community are registered. Contrary to what some people are thinking, we did not send out personal invites to members, so there is no "selection process" for attendees. All registered members of the Forum, and thereby, of TCP, were invited to attend. However, we did not post about the event here on the site and in our other social networking sites. [CdL]

Update (12/28/2008): Check out the pictures from the event in the multiply site.

News Round-Up: December 19

'Tis the season for year-end awards, and this year, it's not only the famous people who got recognized. MTV News has decided to give their Woman of the Year Award to The Twilighters! Larry Carroll writes:

If you're one of the millions of women who live and die by "Twilight," please take a quick glance into the nearest mirror — because MTV News' Woman of the Year is you.

Our sincerest apologies to male Stephenie Meyer lovers, Kaleb the Twilight Guy and, well, me. But even Forks fans of the testosterone persuasion have to admit that "Twilight" is a franchise driven by sincere, shrieking and borderline-stalker female fans.

Well, thank YOU, MTV! :) And thank you, Ashley and Taylor!

Meanwhile, Stephenie Meyer was named one of MSN Lifestyle's Most Influential Women of 2008. Click here to read the citation. USA Today usually proclaims a Book of the Year, but the Twilight Saga has been such a hit, they decided to declare Steph as the Author of the Year instead. Congrats, Steph!

ET Online went straight to Disney to find out if Robert Pattinson really is in the running for a role in Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Disney says NO. I knew it. ;)

IGN interviewed Catherine Hardwicke in time for the movie's UK opening.

In an interview with The Improper, Kristen Stewart explained how she initially hated Bella's character when she read the script for Twilight but changed her mind later upon discovering more about the character and Edward Cullen.

Cosmo listed 30 of the Hottest Guys of 2008, and Rob Pattinson and Peter Facinelli are on the list! While you're at it, check out Impossible Fascination's exclusive interview with Peter here.

Today, in the New Moon Telenovela: Taylor Lautner clarified some of the rumours about the casting for Jacob Black. He explained to MTV's Larry Carroll that nobody has said that he's not in the running at all, and that some of the news regarding his efforts to land the role are a bit exaggerated. The only thing he's been doing is working out (he's gained 19 pounds since Twilight wrapped!), and Larry attests to the very noticeable change in Taylor's physique. Taylor will also be meeting with director Chris Weitz in a couple of days, so cross your fingers if you want Taylor to be back for New Moon! Taylor also called out co-star Ashley Greene and asked her to choose between Team Edward and Team Jacob. Ashley showed her support by saying:

"Right now I'm gonna be on Team Jacob because I'm really, really rooting that you stay and that you play Jacob in the second one."

EDITED TO ADD (4:31 PM): CelebsGoneGood have an interview with Peter Facinelli, where he talks about his favorite charities, helping out, and what he wants for Christmas. [Oh my Carlisle, can all the girls here have a guy like you for Christmas, Pete?]

News Round-Up: December 12

Catherine Hardwicke spoke to MTV about the Twilight DVD which is due to be released next year. She revealed details about the commentaries, deleted scenes, bloopers, montages, and other exciting stuff that she wants to include. She also talked about her recording session with Rob and Kristen for the commentaries.

Rosario Dawson, Rob Pattinson's co-star in his next movie, Parts Per Billion, reveals more about the movie and Rob's role in it. [Sounds interesting.]

Like everyone else in the industry, Reelz Channel is chiming in with their choices for who should helm New Moon.

For those with a more technical interest in the Twilight film, Make-Up Artist Jeanne Van Phue reveals her make-up techniques for the film, and in the same article, we see the character sketches that she used as reference for the look of some of the characters for the first time. In another website, she specifically described Nikki Reed's make-up regimen for Rosalie.

We don't normally post Hot Topic merchandise updates because they're really not available locally, but this one is just too... amusing not to post. Twilight Edward Body Shimmer. [Now you know how they achieved the sparkle effect in the movie, because you know, they only had $20 for special effects.

...

...
[insert Sparkling Edward sound effect here]
...

...

Kidding. :p
] More Hot Topic Twilight merch here.

In today's installment of the New Moon Telenovela: Celebuzz is reporting that Taylor Lautner is definitely out, and now NewMoonMovie.org is reporting that Michael Copon (Scorpion King, One Tree Hill) might just have gotten that role. Also, Entertainment Weekly seems fairly certain that Chris Weitz is indeed about to be hired as the new pilot of the New Moon Express. [Please take all of these stories with a grain of good quality salt mined from First Beach, after all, Summit hasn't released an official statement, and one of these sites is reporting that the new actor that will take on the Jacob role should have good chemistry with Kristen Bell (NOTE THE SARCASM). Just sayin'.]

And if you need some cheering up on this rainy day, no need to leave the house [there's a big rally in Makati and that spells traffic hell], hit your kitchen and make some Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge [you know you need the sugar rush after all the dramz]. If you just want to laugh, preferably at something Twilight-themed and Christmasy, watch The Twilight Before Christmas [hilarious, and the acting is spot on].

If you just want to see some bloodshed, pay homage to Emmett and take a look at the Things Bears Love. Random! [I know, I know, a couple of these links aren't Twilight-related, but what the Hale, right? We all need a diversion before the dramz dazzles us all to undeath.]

What do you guys think? Post your answer in the comments. :)
