Post-Event Report: TCP's 'Twas the Yule Before Dawn X'mas Party 2010

This year, Twilight Coven Philippines celebrates its third Christmas season! (Wow, how time flies!) Saturday, December 18, the group held its annual holiday gathering, dubbed "'Twas the Yule Before Dawn" at KFC, SM Megamall Building A.

The members had fun joining the different games prepared by the TCP admins. They racked their brains for the Twilight memory game, where they were given scant time to memorize Twi-related words on a sheet. Full participation of everyone in attendance was required for a category game, where each person was given two random characters from the saga, and if they fit the descriptions called out, they had to sit down. The final games were TCP's standard Paint-Me-A-Picture, where the participants were asked to pose with the character standees on display, and a Mastermind-type game.

One of the highlights was "Mangle the Christmas Carol", where teams of three were determined at the start of the party and were asked to perform Twilightized versions of any popular Christmas song. We are very proud of all groups and their creative efforts that we asked to share the lyrics to their Twi-carols here. :D

Team: Melissa, Meean, Meisha
[sung to the tune of Joy to the World]
Twilight rules the world! ..............Joy to the world
Edward has come. .......................The Lord is come
Will Bella become a vampire? .......Let earth receive her king.
And Jake made her confused. ....... Let every heart.
But she's the one to choose. ....... Prepare Him room.
And Edward was her choice. ........And heaven & nature sing
Renesmee is the fruit. ..................And heaven & nature sing
And Jacob became her son-in law!.........And heaven, and heaven & nature sing

Team: Nikki, Kim, Joanna
On the 12th day of Christmas the Volturi gave to me...

Twelve eggs a’frying, eleven humans stoning, ten guards a’feeding, nine nomads dancing, eight Volvos drifting, seven Cullens singing, six newborns slaying, five Carlisle rings, four howling wolves, three blonde Denalis, two wolf boys in love, and Emmett on an apple tree.

Prizes for the games included Eclipse DVDs, Twilight Saga books, and New Moon and Eclipse posters. For the last two games, first place groups were surprised with a set each of the Eclipse standees! (One set has a Jacob, a Bella and an Edward.)

We would like to thank everyone who made it to the party. We hope you had a blast! Thank you also to those who continue to support and follow our community. And a very special thank you to our sponsors: Ms. Isa and Hachette Book Group USA (Philippines); National Bookstore; C-Interactive Entertainment; Pioneer Films; and Ms. Alona and New Trends Philippines/Esprit (for what CdL now calls THE AMAZING ECLIPSE STANDEES!)

Happy Holidays from Twilight Coven Philippines ... and Bella, Edward and Jacob. ^.~

It's December again, and what more fitting event to close this awesome year for Pinoy Twilighters than to have TCP's 'Twas the Yule Before Dawn Christmas Party!

Join us on Saturday, 18 December 2010, 5-7pm at KFC SM Megamall Bldg A (above National Bookstore) as we celebrate a sparkly year of friends, fun, and all-around Twilight fan craziness.

Just like the past two years, we will be implementing a guest list to gauge the number of attendees. So please make sure you follow the instructions below very carefully so that you may be included in the guest list.
Click on this link to view instructions >>> Read the rest of this post1. All OFFICIAL TCP members are welcome to attend the party. "Official" means you should be a member of the TCP Forum.

2. Each member can bring two other guests/companions only (TCP member or otherwise).

3. RSVP by adding your name on the guest list in the Party Guest List Thread in the Forum. If you're bringing a guest, please make sure to add your guest's name to the list as well.

Example:
1. Mabelle
:
:

4. We can only accommodate 90 people for the party.

5. The guest list will be closed on 15 December 2010 or once all of the slots have been filled, whichever comes first.

6. Please prepare Php150.00 per person as registration fee to help us defray the cost for the food and venue rental. This already includes one KFC Fully Loaded Meal.

7. Please have the courtesy to post to the Party Guest List Thread or send a private message to an administrator in the event that you have to back out from attending the party. Use this option sparingly and wisely as we have to know the exact number of attendees to order the food prior to the event. If we have already requested x number of meals and you suddenly back out, that cost will be shouldered by TCP.

8. A friendly reminder to the young ones: Please ask permission from your parents before signing up. :)

Hope to see you all in the party!

Post Event Report: Fire and Ice, Flashback to Eclipse

The weekend before the local release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Powerbooks and Twilight Coven Philippines held an Eclipse book event entitled, "Fire and Ice: Flashback to Eclipse". This special book discussion was conducted on June 26, 2010 at Powerbooks Greenbelt 4.

Participants got to relive the important events in Stephenie Meyer's Eclipse by joining the games which focused on different themes in the book. The entire program consisted of these games which helped the players know key Eclipse events, the backstory of Rosalie and Jasper, the story of the newborns through Bree Tanner, the movie adaptation process, and the Eclipse OST.

Winners get to take home prizes c/o Powerbooks, including tickets to The Twilight Saga Eclipse, and Twilight books and posters c/o Twilight Coven Philippines and Hachette Book Group (Philippines).

Thank you to everyone who attended this special book discussion. Though we're a relatively small group this time around, we had fun in conducting the games (and everyone got to take home at least one prize!). We also thank Powerbooks and Hachette Book Group (Philippines) for this event.

Check out our flickr and multiply albums for pictures.

Post Event Report: Bree Tanner Book Launch Party

National Bookstore and Twilight Coven Philippines launched Stephenie Meyer's latest book by holding The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner Book Launch Party on June 6, 2010 at the SM City North Edsa Entertainment Plaza. The release party is also sponsored by Hachette Book Group, Pioneer Films, Jollibee and Selecta.

Twilight fans got to celebrate the release of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by participating in various activities in the event area and joining the games. Attendees get to declare if they are Team Edward or Team Jacob in the allegiance board and also got to pose as Bella in the enlarged The Twilight Saga: Eclipse poster. Various Twilight books are also sold in the event. Free snacks and ice cream were also distributed courtesy of Jollibee and Selecta.

Representatives of Hachette Book Group and National Bookstore opened the event by introducing and presenting the newly-released book. Daene Luna, administrator of Twilight Coven Philippines, hosted the main program, while other TCP members assisted in the games.

The main program revolved around the concept of the newborns' journey in Eclipse. Three teams were narrowed to a winning team, who won advanced screening tickets to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The winning team also battled each other to win a Palm Z22 Handheld.   A side program was also featured where participants have to answer a Twilight trivia question.  All participants in the main program and winners in the side program won Eclipse posters, bag tags, tumblers and a limited edition Bree Tanner tote.

The Twilight Coven Philippines administrators would like to thank National Bookstore and the other sponsors for including TCP in their event. Congratulations also to all the winners, and all the Twilighters who participated in our games!

For pictures, check our flickr and multiply sites (thanks Minamic and Rome!) and NBS' facebook album. Related press releases on the event are published by Philippine Star and Manila Bulletin.

Fire and Ice: Flashback to Eclipse

Hope we get to see you this Saturday, June 26, as we prepare for the local release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse through this event! This will be a unique book discussion compared to the ones we had before so we hope that you can join us :D

Post Event Report: TCP's ABSolutely Merry Christmas Party 2009

Twilight Coven Philippines (TCP) members and other Filipino Twilighters ended the year 2009 with an ABSolutely Merry Christmas Party, held last December 19 at KFC SM Megamall Building A. This marks the second event hosted by TCP in celebration of the yuletide season.

Attendees got to know each other during the Twilight Fan Confession Bingo Game, where each person is tasked to find another person in the event that fits the particular Twilight fan criterion in their bingo cards. The winner of the game got to take home a Hot Topic The Twilight Saga: New Moon shirt courtesy of Warner Music Philippines.

The ice breaker was followed by other Twilight-inspired games, such as a word and spelling game (it sounds elementary on paper but the game was actually fun), a twist to our traditional Paint Me a Picture game, and charades. Winners received prizes from Pioneer Films, Warner Music Philippines, Powerbooks, 1979 Entertainment such as The Twilight Saga: New Moon posters and shirts, sampler cds, and Sam Bradley EPs. Books from the Twilight Saga donated to us by Hachette Book Group USA (Philippines) were also raffled off.

Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated the holidays with us; we had a fun event because of you. Thanks once again to Pioneer Films, Hachette Book Group USA (Philippines), Warner Music Philippines, and 1979 Entertainment.

Post Event Report: TCP's 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' Blocked Screening

To celebrate the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon and as a special treat to members of Twilight Coven Philippines (TCP) and fellow Filipino Twilighters, TCP held a special blocked screening on November 20, 2009 (also the 1st day of regular screening for the film) at Greenbelt 3 Cinema 3.

At the event, we launched TCP's Wave 4 button pins, which were sold prior to the screening.

Twilight fans were invited to participate in an afternoon of fun and games outside the theater, as they were tested on their New Moon knowledge to build up anticipation for the movie. Some of the attendees also wore their Twilight-inspired outfits.

The fun and excitement extended to a mini-programme for ticket holders just before the film, where TCP facilitated short games and a raffle, and the guests received invites to the party hosted by Fizzer.ph. Winners of the games and the raffle received special prizes, including New Moon merchandise such as posters, sampler cds, books, and shirts. The programme , hosted by Casey Copengco and the TCP administrators, was immediately followed by the screening of The Twilight Saga: New Moon for ticket holders, sponsors, and guests.

Twilight Coven Philippines thanks Ayala Malls Cinemas, Pioneer Films, Hachette Book Group USA (Philippines), Warner Music Philippines, 1979 Entertainment, Fizzer.ph, The New Worlds Alliance, and private donors for sponsoring this event.

4. We can only accommodate 125 people for the party.

5. The guest list will be closed on 15 December 2009 or once all of the slots have been filled, whichever comes first.

For questions or clarifications, please post a comment; but before you do, please make sure you've read and understood all the instructions above.

So in our best imitation of Aro, we bid you to JOIN US! See you at the party!

Post-Event Report: New Moon Backtracks

As excitement for the release of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" started to build, Ayala Malls Cinemas, in cooperation with Powerbooks and Twilight Coven Philippines (TCP), launched the New Moon Backtracks series held in various Powerbooks branches in Ayala Malls around Metro Manila.

First in the series was a New Moon Refresher, held at Powerbooks Trinoma on 14 November 2009. The four TCP administrators facilitated the event, talking about movie adaptations in general and the major plot points of the New Moon book. The discussion focused on the pre-production process of New Moon and what audiences can expect from the upcoming movie. Participants also got to join in the games to test their New Moon knowledge and win prizes from Powerbooks.

The succeeding events were two movie review discussions, held separately on 21 and 22 November 2009 in Powerbooks Greenbelt and Alabang Town Center respectively. During these events, participants got to air their thoughts regarding different aspects of the New Moon movie -- production and technical, direction, actors' performances, and adaptation. With the movie still fresh in the minds of the participants, most of them made inevitable comparisons to Twilight, and also remarked on their favorite aspects of the movie. Games were also conducted for the participants to get to know each other, and also to challenge their memory of the details that were shown in the movie.

Thank you to everyone who attended the New Moon Backtracks series. We surely had fun reminiscing the book and then rehashing the movie only days after it was released in the Philippines.

Thanks to Ayala Malls Cinemas and Powerbooks.

Post-Event Report: New Moon Soundtrack Launch Party

Pinoy Twilighters got another chance to combine their love for Twilight and music in this year's The Twilight Saga: New Moon Soundtrack Launch by Warner Music Philippines. The event was held in SM Megamall Activity Center on November 13, 2009 at 6PM and was made possible by Warner Music Philippines, Pioneer Films, Magic 89.9, SM Megamall, National Bookstore, Friendster, Water Plus, Candy Magazine, Yoshinoya, Trigger Happy, and Twilight Coven Philippines.

True to form, just like last year's event, the attendees were treated to food, music, and games in order to celebrate the release of the The Twilight Saga: New Moon movie soundtrack. The participants had free food and drinks from Yoshinoya and Water Plus, plus free issues of Candy Magazine. People also had fun posing for unlimited pictures at the Trigger Happy photobooth.

The event was hosted by Junior Jock Curtis from Magic 89.9, while Twilight Coven Philippines assisted in the facilitation of the games. The games were all geared towards testing the attendees' knowledge of the soundtrack. Participants also got a chance to win advance screening tickets to The Twilight Saga: New Moon, plus New Moon posters, shirts, sampler cds, and Warner Music planners.

The musical acts were definitely the highlight of the event, as bands covered songs featured in the Twilight soundtrack. Gracenote covered Paramore's "I Caught Myself" and "Decode", followed by BlueBoyBitesBack, who covered MuteMath's "Spotlight (Twilight Mix)". Both bands also performed their own music. The event ended with a performance from Urbandub, who also performed in last year's Twilight soundtrack launch event.

The Twilight Coven Philippines administrators would like to thank Warner Music Philippines and the other sponsors for including TCP in their event. Congratulations also to all the winners (especially to those who got advance screening tickets), and thank you to all TCP members and non-members who attended the event.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is available in stores nationwide.

Note 2: These events are open to EVERYONE. EXCEPT Twilight haters. Hahaha!

Manila International Book Fair: "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" - Shapeshifting From Book to Film

Join TCP at the Manila International Book Fair 2009 at the SMX Convention Center (SM Mall of Asia) for an hour of New Moon!

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" - Shapeshifting From Book to Film
9-20-09, SMX Meeting Room 7, 4:00-5:00pm
Presented by Twilight Coven Philippines

The film adaptation of the second book of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling Twilight Saga, "New Moon", will rise in theaters this November. It's only just a few weeks away, but much of what is going to be in the film is still hidden in the shadows. Twilight Coven Philippines sheds light on how the adaptation is taking shape and what transformations the fans are expecting to see.

We're looking forward to finding out what your thoughts are about what we know about the film so far, and what you most want to see. If you have questions that you specifically want answered during the talk, do post them in the comments section below.

The Meeting Room can only accommodate around 50 people, so don't be late! If you are definitely attending, please comment as well. See you there!

TCP would like to thank Cosplay.ph, the MIBF organizers and the New Worlds Alliance.

UPDATE (9/12/9): The MIBF site also has the complete list of events for the duration of the fair. There is an entrance fee for access to the fair (but we know it's cheap), but no fee needed to enter the event itself. But why pay when you can also print this to gain free admission? :D

TCP'S Happy Cullen Christmas Party: A Big Thank You to Everyone!

Thank you to all of those who went to TCP's Happy Cullen Christmas Party last December 20 at KFC Megamall. We had a blast meeting all of you and having the opportunity to celebrate the holidays with fellow Pinoy Twilighters. We will post pictures and a event report on it in the site.

We apologize to everyone who were not informed of this event since we need to limit the attendees for logistical reasons. We hope to meet you all again in future TCP events.

Big thanks to TCP member Sesomnhoj, Ms. Kristine of Warner Music Philippines, and Ms. Isa of Hachette Book Group (Philippines) for providing the prizes for the games. We hope everyone enjoyed the party and have a happy Cullen Christmas ahead!

Twilight Coven Philippines Administrators

P.S. There has been a mix up and KFC was not able to serve a part of the meal that was planned (i.e. the bbq chicken burger), so we sincerely apologize to anyone who felt that the meal was lacking (we surely thought so!). Sorry, we just have to say it because it was frustrating when we were appraised of the matter AFTER the event.

P.P.S. For those who were asking who were informed about the party... It was posted at the TCP Forums, since that is where the official members of the Community are registered. Contrary to what some people are thinking, we did not send out personal invites to members, so there is no "selection process" for attendees. All registered members of the Forum, and thereby, of TCP, were invited to attend. However, we did not post about the event here on the site and in our other social networking sites. [CdL]

Update (12/28/2008): Check out the pictures from the event in the multiply site.
