For those who aren't on our Twitter feed (and why aren't you? :P )...

National Book Store is now selling Twilight: The Graphic Novel Vol. 1 at 40% off the original price of Php895.00. You can now get a copy for Php537.00. That's good news for those who have been saving up for it (but bad news for those who rushed to buy it when it came out).

News Round-Up: 19 March 2010

The Twilight: The Graphic Novel Vol. 1 is now available in local bookstores! To know more information regarding the graphic novel, USA Today discusses the material and its contribution to the Twilight franchise.

The next anticipated release for Twilight fans is The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD which will be out in stores next week. If you're planning to buy other versions aside from / other than the local version, here's a Summit-approved New Moon DVD guide to help you decide.

Also on the New Moon DVD front, here's an interview of CNN with Chris Weitz talking about making the film and what we can expect from the DVD.

MTV on the other hand released a few clips that will be featured in the DVD. Access Hollywood also sent in this clip (below) regarding the cliff diving scene:

Now from New Moon to Breaking Dawn news, Entertainment Weekly has some leads on the possible directors that might take the helm for the final movie. Moreover, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning talked about the major plot points that will be considered in the last movie.

In celebration of Lykke Li's birthday, the music video for Possibility has been released. This song is part of the The Twilight Saga: New Moon Official Soundtrack.

Early Reservation details for "Twilight: The Graphic Novel Vol. 1"

UPDATE (3/16): Theoretically, you should all be able to claim your copies of the graphic novel today. But we're getting reports that some branches don't have the books in-store yet. We're not sure why because we've been assured that stocks have already arrived from the US last week. So to save you the time and effort, make sure to call first before visiting the store where you reserved and ask if they have the book in-store already.

UPDATE (3/12): Edited the post to add the graphic that National Book Store sent along. :) Thanks to Ms. Isabel of NBS Marketing Services.
---

We've been informed by Hachette Book Group USA (Phils.) that National Bookstore is now accepting reservations for "Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1". NBS is also giving a 20% discount on reservations. The graphic novel is set to be released on March 16th.

We've been told that NBS already has stocks on hand but that they are embargoed until March 16. This means that if you reserve with NBS or Powerbooks, you are sure to get your copy on the release date. Just visit the nearest National Bookstore or Powerbooks branch to reserve a copy.

We don't know how much the retail price is yet. We'll update this post once we get that information. The graphic novel retails for Php895.00; you will be asked for a Php300.00 deposit to complete the reservation process. Remember: No reservation and no downpayment, no discount. (Thanks to Claire for the information.)

Answers to some FAQs

We've been receiving many repetitive questions here and on Twitter about several topics. Instead of answering every single one of the same tweets and emails and comments, we're gonna take the time to address the frequently asked questions here. :)

Q. When is the New Moon DVD going to be released locally?
A. Pioneer Films says they're also aiming for a March release, same as the US. There are no definite details yet, though. Keep monitoring this site for updates.

Q: When will "Twilight: The Graphic Novel" be released locally?
A: In March as well, according to Hachette Book Group USA (Phils). But this will be highly dependent on whether the stores put in their orders on time, and whether their forwarders/shippers don't encounter any logistics problems.

Q: When will "Remember Me" be released locally?
A: As we said before, it's showing March 12th, and will be distributed locally by Pioneer Films. No, TCP isn't planning a Block Screening. :P

Q: What about "The Runaways" and "Welcome to the Riley's"?
A: Again, we already posted about this; we haven't got any information on who will be distributing these movies locally, if any. I didn't see these films in the line-ups of 3 big distributors that I personally work with. Don't worry, we haven't stopped asking around about these movies yet. We will let you know here and on Twitter/Plurk as soon as we have more information.

Q: When will "Eclipse" be released locally?
A: Pioneer Films has no final decision on that yet, but expect a date very close to or the same as the US release.

Q: Will "New Moon: The Score" be released locally?
A: We're not sure yet. We'll update this info as soon as we get an answer to the inquiry we already posted to the publishers. Warner Music Phils. says that "New Moon: The Score" is already available locally. Please let us know if you spot them in stores. In addition, we haven't seen the sheet music for the New Moon soundtrack around yet either. If you're looking for the sheet music for the Twilight soundtrack, they're available at Sound Essentials branches around Metro Manila and occasionally, at Fully Booked stores.

"Twilight: The Graphic Novel (Vol. 1)", on shelves in March

The graphic novel adaptation of Twilight is set to be released on 16 March 2010 in the US, according to publisher Yen Press (the graphic novel imprint of Hachette Book Group).

Twilight: The Graphic Novel, adapted and illustrated by Korean artist Young Kim, will be released in 2 volumes. The 2nd volume's release date has yet to be announced.

The graphic novel will be released in hardcover, and will retail for US $19.99 (approx. PhP920.56, although this is likely not the local retail price).

We will update you guys once we get word on the local release date from the publishers.

More details from the press release posted on Stephenie Meyer's website:

Twilight: The Graphic Novel contains selected text from Meyer's original novel with illustrations by Korean artist Young Kim. A rare fusion of Asian and Western comic techniques is reflected in this black-and-white graphic novel with color interspersed throughout. Meyer consulted throughout the artistic process and had input on every panel.

"I've enjoyed working on this new interpretation of Twilight," said Meyer. "Young has done an incredible job transforming the words that I have written into beautiful images. The characters and settings are very close to what I was imagining while writing the series."

'Twilight' Graphic Novel in the Works

Being an avid manga reader, I'm really excited with this news: EW has announced that Twilight will soon be available in a graphic novel version. Check out the full story in Entertainment Weekly with an exclusive look at the biology scene. Stephenie Meyer is also reported to be heavily involved with the project. So what do you Twilighters think about experience Twilight again in a different medium? Do you think there will be graphic novels for the rest of the saga?
