New Poll: Pinoy Version of Twilight - Love or Hate the idea?
Rumour has it a local network has acquired the rights to produce Twilight for Philippine television. Although this remains to be a rumour (we have not seen an official press release and we're not inclined to ask for fear of finding out that the rumours are actually true), we want to know what you think. So check the new poll in the side bar and vote!UPDATE (1:19PM): Yehey.com has picked up the news. Still hoping this doesn't mean it's legit....
UPDATE (Dec. 24, 9:34AM): We still haven't seen any OFFICIAL press releases as of now, so we decided to ask Hachette Book Group and Viva International if they can confirm the news. The Philippine representative of Hachette said this is the first she's heard of the news. We're waiting to hear from Viva, and eventually, ABS-CBN (we hope). We'll bring you more info about this as we get it. For now, calm down and enjoy the holidays! :) BTW, online petitions don't work, so don't bother.

ABS-CBN has bought the rights to make a tv version of the hit vampire novel "Twilight", ABS-CBN's CEO, Euegenio Lopez III signed a contract last December 6, 2008 for the
tv adaptation of Twilight, the rights cost a more than a million dollars, the taping is set to start next year by February in Baguio, Tagaytay, Bukidnon and some parts will tape outside the country. And it will be directed by Cathy Garcia Molina, the tv adaptation will focus with the love story between Edward and Bella, this is much more than a drama, romance, but also fantasy. This is co-produce by Ignite Media Inc.

The fall of Philippine Television has commenced! Well, it hasn't really recovered over the last few years with all the un-original/recycled junk they're putting out there for some desperate Juan and Maria to see. How apocalyptic can this news get. have to agree with Nacee and Els. This is the reason why I have stopped watching local tv. All they do is ride on the popularity of whatever is doing well on foreign tv and copy it, most often butchering it in the process. This is the worst thing ever!!

First, it'll be a mere attempt of ABS-CBN to rake in more capital as it is sinking lower and lower in the ratings game.
