Special News Round-Up: Pre-MTV Movie Awards 2010

The MTV Movie Awards is this weekend (in the U.S. Probably Monday morning for us)! And as we all know, the zealousness of our fellow Twilighters has resulted in the Twilight Saga: New Moon being present for five categories: Best Female Performance (Kristen Stewart), Best Male Performance (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner), Global Superstar (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner), Best Kiss (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart), and Best Movie.

If you haven't voted yet, you still have time. Voting is still open at the awards site here. (Guys, I think this is the only international fan-based awards where it doesn't matter where you're from! So let's support!) Like last year, I'm rooting for Best Kiss for Rob and KStew! But if you would like to vote for Taylor-Taylor (Valentine's Day) or Kristen-Dakota (The Runaways), then that's ok, too. Any way to show our support for our favorite stars is good, right? While you're at it, make sure you show some voting love for Anna Kendrick, who is in the running for Best Breakthrough Performance for her role in Up in the Air! I'm not being biased, but I saw that movie and she was good in it.

As the event is so near, MTV has released a lot of features, from interviews to promo skits, that star our favorite Twi-cast.

Recently, they've revealed Kristen's and Robert's places on the seating chart.

They asked celebrities to choose between New Moon and Avatar, which both have five nominations, and got Ashton Kutcher to passionately declare that Robert Pattinson should win every award. "Like, I almost got up onstage this year at the Grammys when he didn't win and almost kicked Taylor Swift off." (LOL, Ashton.)

Nikki Reed shared her opinion on Best Kiss, as well as on the inevitability of the Cullens returning for Breaking Dawn.

Mama Cullen, Elizabeth Reaser, campaigned for New Moon: "[I hope] you guys will vote for 'New Moon' for the MTV Movie Awards, because this is a fan[-voted] award, and we need you guys."

New Moon director Chris Weitz, who is, naturally, for his movie, is eyeing a showdown between his star KStew and Avatar heroine, Zoe Saldana. But in the end, "Kristen is my girl and I think that she should win. She's a fantastic actress."

He did suggest a resolution via mixed martial arts, though. Aw, CW. It's comments like those that make us adore you.

The most entertaining Movie Awards promos that involved the Twi-cast? The ads that had RPattz and Taylor Lautner being managed by the fictional entertainment mogul Les Grossman. (Also known as Tom Cruise.)

Taylor's bit had manager Les bringing out a less than stud-ly replacement. (Youtube link here.)

And Les blew up at our beloved Edward when Robert expressed his intentions of showering. (Youtube link here.)

Fictional or not, should be fun watching furious sparks fly when Les finds out what RPattz did to his hair (he had it cut for filming Water for Elephants)... that is, if Tropic Thunder's scary executive decides to grace the movie awards with his presence.

Meanwhile, here's a 10-second teaser clip of New Moon's successor, Eclipse, that Les Grossman's "talents" and Kristen Stewart will be presenting on the show this Sunday (U.S.)/Monday (SEA). (Youtube link here.)
