"Twilight" Movie Tie-In Now Available!

UPDATE (Oct. 18): For those who have been asking... "Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion" will be available locally, but we don't know when. We do know that some stores have indicated there will only be limited quantities. We suggest you call or visit your favorite bookstore and make a reservation so that the store will be sure to order for you. Its retail price in the US is $16.99, so expect the local price to be higher than 800 pesos. The "Twilight: Collector's Edition" is not going to be widely available, but you can order them through your favorite bookstores as well.
---

The "Twilight" Movie Tie-In Edition is now available locally in Fully Booked Gateway, and we assume that this is also the case in other Fully Booked branches. Both trade paperback and mass-market paperback versions are available (priced at Php358 and Php288 respectively). Please check other branches for availability, because as we all know, the Twilight Saga books get sold out fast.

For those who are curious, the movie tie-ins have covers with images from the Twilight film, but there is no difference in the text between these and the regular editions of Twilight.

Thanks to Rome for the info! Don't hesitate to inform us through our e-mail: twilightcoven(at)gmail(dot)com if you've spotted other book releases in the local bookstores.

UPDATE: We're posting this to address Shai's question in the comments, and also in case there are some who are still confused about the differences between the new books that are coming out. :)

First, the Movie Tie-In Editions. The Movie Tie-Ins have the same text as the original Twilight book. The only difference is that these have movie images on the cover. Here are the details for the Movie Tie-Ins:

"Twilight" Movie Tie-In Edition, Mass Market Paperback
Author: Stephenie Meyer
ISBN: 9780316038379
Special Features: Discussion questions. No inserts.

"Twilight" Movie Tie-In Edition, Trade Paperback
Author: Stephenie Meyer
ISBN: 9780316038379
Special Features: Pull-Out Poster. The book is larger than the Mass Market Paperback.

The "Complete Illustrated Movie Companion" is a different animal altogether. It's a reference book about the Twilight film.

"Twilight": The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion
Author: Mark Cotta Vaz
ISBN: 9780316043137
Description: Designed as a celebration of the film, this lavishly illustrated paperback edition is an exclusive behind-the-scenes guide featuring full-color photos of the cast, locations, and sets, as well as storyboards, interviews, details of the special effects, and much more.

The Official Guide is also by Stephenie Meyer, and is sort of THE encyclopedia of the Twilight Saga. This will come out in December 2008.

The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide
Author: Stephenie Meyer
ISBN: 9780316043120
Description: The definitive encyclopedic reference to the Twilight Saga and provides readers with everything they need to further explore the unforgettable world Stephenie Meyer created in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. With exclusive new material, character profiles, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more, this comprehensive handbook is essential for every Twilight Saga fan.

There we go. We hope this clears things up for everyone. :)  If you have any other questions, just comment.  :)

what's the difference between trade paperback and mass-market paperback?

ISSA - None in terms of content. Basically it's the size/format and cover lang. Sometimes may difference din sa paper. Usually the trade paperback is of better quality. :)

a guy from fullybooked texted me yesterday to tell me that this one is already out and asking for my confirmation of my reservation. do you think i should confirm it? kasi gusto ko sana bilhin muna yung twilight with the original cover. and i'm also thinking na baka they won't release twilight (original cover) na kaya i'm kinda having second thought about buying the movie tiei-in. hai....

    Hi, Bernadette.

Actually, they will still be publishing the original cover, but whenever the bookstores stock those, super bilis niya talaga maubos. If you really need a copy of Twilight now, I suggest you buy the trade paperback (para mas mura) then buy the original cover na lang later when you see it sa stores. Malamang kasi, for the period na malapit sa movie, majority of the stocks will be the movie tie-in. Pero for sure, meron pa rin yang lalabas na original cover. :)

    hi clair de lune,

really? kasi i'm thinking wouldn't it be much nicer to have twilight original cover? haha. sorry i'm really desperate...

    Bernadette -

Yeah, I agree. I like the original cover better. Hehe. But again, buy the movie tie-in if you really feel that you want to have a copy of Twilight now. Kung feeling mo you can wait pa naman, then just wait for the original cover. :)

Or ask FB if they will have a stock of the original cover trade paperback soon (give them the ISBN to be sure, it's 9781904233800) so you can decide. :)

hello! im kind of confused here. the trade paperback and the mass-market paperback are the same with the twilight BOOK? and the only difference is the cover and the poster that is included in the trade paperback and mass-market issue? and the movie companion and the official guide are two different things as well?

thank you so much! i would appreciate your explanation...

i just want to ask if you know how much is the muvie companion book.?

It is utterly useless to buy the Twilight Movie Tie-In books because every single word is the same as the original. For those who are obssessed (just for collecting) do get over it. Those who buy it do not appreciate the true meaning of Stephenie Meyer's cover but the movie comig up instead. Sheesh. Too bad the Twilight Collector's Edition isn't coming out yet in the Philippines. Awww. Besides the Twilight Collector's Edition is the best. :))

The Collector's Ed. is probably ideal, but it's too expensive for the average Twilight fan, most of which, are students who save up their allowance to buy the books. And most of the people who would buy the movie tie-in are people who don't know about Twilight (or the significance of the cover) just yet.

Personally, I think the more people who read Twilight, the better, no matter which edition of the book they actually buy. :)
