News Round-Up: 21 May 2009
Summit Entertainment has announced that they will hold a panel at the 2009 San Diego International Comic Convention for The Twilight Saga: New Moon on the July 23 (Thursday) slot. As in last year's Twilight panel, Summit is bringing in some of the stars of the film, and will be showing exclusive footage. If you are planning on attending the event, one-day passes for Thursday are available for purchase (but it looks like there are only a few left!) at the Comic-Con website. If there's a TCP reader out there who is headed to Comic-Con, please let us know! We'd love to have a correspondent there.
While Robert Pattinson is in the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival promoting The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Remember Me for Summit Entertainment, he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he is committed to doing the Breaking Dawn film, confirming that it is at least on Summit's development list. However, he also said there is no start date for it yet. Everglow has a great collection of photos of Rob in Cannes here.
Adding to the list of Rob's already long list of upcoming movies is the adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's Bel Ami, which is scheduled to start principal photography next year. This is the latest in a string of new projects for our very much in-demand favorite vampire, which already includes The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Remember Me, and Unbound Captives.
Also, it's confirmed! Alice gets to drive the infamous yellow Porsche in New Moon! Twilighters Italia have pics and video from the production in Montepulciano here.
