Early Reservation details for "Twilight: The Graphic Novel Vol. 1"
UPDATE (3/16): Theoretically, you should all be able to claim your copies of the graphic novel today. But we're getting reports that some branches don't have the books in-store yet. We're not sure why because we've been assured that stocks have already arrived from the US last week. So to save you the time and effort, make sure to call first before visiting the store where you reserved and ask if they have the book in-store already.
UPDATE (3/12): Edited the post to add the graphic that National Book Store sent along. :) Thanks to Ms. Isabel of NBS Marketing Services.

We've been informed by Hachette Book Group USA (Phils.) that National Bookstore is now accepting reservations for "Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1". NBS is also giving a 20% discount on reservations. The graphic novel is set to be released on March 16th.
We've been told that NBS already has stocks on hand but that they are embargoed until March 16. This means that if you reserve with NBS or Powerbooks, you are sure to get your copy on the release date. Just visit the nearest National Bookstore or Powerbooks branch to reserve a copy.
We don't know how much the retail price is yet. We'll update this post once we get that information. The graphic novel retails for Php895.00; you will be asked for a Php300.00 deposit to complete the reservation process. Remember: No reservation and no downpayment, no discount. (Thanks to Claire for the information.)

Is this the graphic novel version of the entire first book? Or will they chop it down to x # of volumes?
As the cover indicates, it's Vol. 1. ;-) There are a total of 2 volumes; Vol. 2 has no release date yet. :)
Thanks for the quick reply.
That's what I was wondering about. So apparently graphic novel volume 1 doesn't cover the entire first book in the series. They split it into two volumes. Like how Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies hopefully. =)
Right? Or did I sound still confused? =)
That's right. Vol. 1 probably ends somewhere in the middle of the book.
Hi! Confirm lang, dba they're giving out 20% discount? Is the 895 the discounted price pr may less 20% pa? Thanks!!!
bakit ang mahal
sa tingin ko kelangan ko ng summer Job
:(
@conversible Php895 is the actual retail price, so you still have to less 20% from that to get the discounted price if you reserve a copy :D
@resident nutty i reserved yesterday sa nbs southmall and sabi sakin until last friday lang daw yung reservation na may 20% discount. Then i wasn't required to pay the 300php downpayment fee. Kaso whats weird is i called earlier yesterday and pwede pa daw yung 20%.. :|
@conversible we suggest that you go there again and ask for the discount. i think the person was mis-informed, since you also called the same branch (is this right?) and another person said that the discount still remains as long as it's on or before march 15. so far we haven't received other problems such as this regarding the discount.
tell them that the information came directly from our blog which was sent in by the Marketing Dept of NBS, and it said that the deadline was on or before march 15. if that didn't work (let us know also so we can inform our NBS contact also), we suggest you go to another branch (better if you call that branch beforehand) since sayang ang discount and you didn't give a down payment anyway :) good luck!

@resident nutty hi! I was supposed to go to the branch and show them printed proof (web print) of your post regarding the 20% discount but nbs called me up and said "extended daw ang deadline" for the down payment and the discount (buti na lang!). Everything's okay now, i payed the down and reserved myself a copy :) thank you!
NBS Festival just texted me this morning, around 10:46am to inform me that I can already pick-up my reservation :)
i was also able to claim my copy today. though i wasn't texted, i headed to nbs southmall to claim it and walla! anyway here's a sneak peek for those who intend to buy but are having second thoughts: http://mackisip.tumblr.com/post/451924348/twilightgraphicnovel1
Question about the twilight graphic novel: Are not all of the graphics colored? Cos I just got my copy and I noticed that 98% of the graphics are in black and white, the rest are colored. Forgive me for asking this cos this is my 1st venture towards buying comics (alright... "graphic novel") since The Archies, and I don't know if this "colored/b&w" graphics are just "styles" of the artist. :S
wolffia: most graphic novels are colored. but i don't have a copy of twilight, so i don't know what's up with the b/w pages....
is it the same for the others? guys?
WOLFFIA: I've been told by the other TCP members that most of the book really isn't colored. They said it's mostly sepia and occasional other colors for certain parts.
Wolffia: Yup. There Twi GN hardly has color. I'm not much of a fan of GNs, but most of what I see are colored. I've seen clips of this on the net, and I really think that all copies are like what we have.:) Then again, if ever I get in touch with people in the US who have a copy of the GN I'll ask if it's the same for them.:)
thanks Clair de Lune & KiniBabyLove for your replies! ^__^ hopefully the copies we have here in the Phils are the same with the US ones.
WOLFFIA: Don't worry, I'm sure we have the same copies since Hachette (the publisher) told me that NBS/Powerbooks stocks came directly from them, imported from the US. :)
Oh! I bought the GN today at SM San Lazaro. I was surprised to see that it is only P537.00! So I bought it kaagad.
