News Round-Up: 14 August 2009

The Entertainment Weekly cover which features both Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner can already be viewed online. EW also posted a preview for this cover story in their upcoming Fall Movie Preview issue.

In an MTV interview with Brett Ratner, filmmaker of the screen adaptation of Youngblood, he cites Robert Pattinson as one of the actors he has in mind for the cast of the film. Youngblood is a comic book series created by Rob Liefeld.

As most of us cannot seem to shake the images of the wolf pack's torsos out of our minds (and seriously, why bother?), here's an interview of OK! Magazine with Chaske Spencer during a charity event. He gives a picture on how members in the wolf pack maintain their shape.

Paramore's video of Decode is nominated for Best Rock Video for the MTV Video Music Awards. Click here to vote!

For a fun read, check this article from New York Times on hairstyles. Robert Pattinson was especially mentioned (this reminds me of the Danag Episode 5 days...-mabelletaka).

News Round-Up: 6 August 2009

News from the Twilight Lexicon and Jodelle Ferland's Official fansite confirms the actress' involvement with third movie, Eclipse:
Its official! Jodelle has been cast in the Twilight Saga, The 3rd Film, Eclipse! she will playing The Newborn Vampire! We are really excited for her. How so many of you had petitioned for Jodelle to be cast as Jane, and now she gets to work alongside the cast and Dakota Fanning who was cast as Jane for New Moon.
And if you haven't checked out Jodelle Ferland's Twitter account yet, she excitedly confirmed it herself:
Oh by the way, the secret that I told everybody about yesterday is now all over the web so I may as well say it. I'm going to be in Eclipse!
Congratulations and welcome to the crazy world of Twilight, Jodelle! :)

In other news, Paramore's "Decode" has been nominated for BEST ROCK VIDEO in the MTV Video Music Awards. So, give them some love and vote! They're up against some very tough competition from Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and Kings of Leon.

ETOnline has an interview with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who's currently working on Eclipse, same as everyone. They couldn't resist asking her opinion about Rachelle's departure:
ET: What do you think of the recasting of Rachelle Lefevre?

Melissa Rosenberg: I love Rachelle, but Bryce Dallas Howard? It was a shame, but I think Rachelle will go on to do brilliant things. I just love her. I am sure Bryce will be great.
Link to the short interview here.

Twilight Tweeters
Was prowling the twitter world this morning. Sharing some cast tweets:

billy_burke: On the set of the indy movie i'm squeezing in before Eclipse. The guy I'm playing could kick a vampire's ass with his mind. (and a lunchbox)

RachelleLefevre: "Funny People" is a great film if you haven't seen it. Really funny and very touching. Highly recommended.

peterfacinelli: Just finished two hours of fight training for Eclipse. Now if anyone messes with me I can pretend to kick their ass really well.

jodellemicah: In all the excitement of finally being allowed to say I'm in Eclipse, I forgot to have breakfast. My stomach is reminding me. ;)

Lots of news articles today coming from MTV in the wake of the movie awards:

MTV captured 50 stills from the New Moon trailer and posted them up as a slideshow. Click here to satisfy the nitpicking fan in you.

At last week's BookExpo America, MTV spotted more vampire-related books that might soon be making their way into your favorite local bookstores. If you're into the genre, click here to check out what's in store for you.

Catherine Hardwicke is set to direct a contemporary version of Hamlet starring Emile Hirsch. MTV, however, has a fun speculation ongoing for which roles the Twilight cast might be fit for if they ever join Hardwicke's cast. Once again, please note that this is just fun speculation on MTV's part.

Rob Pattinson says he wants to keep New Moon a surprise for himself but promises that from what he's seen of the dailies, the film should look "amazing".

Paramore's Hayley Williams told MTV that they are not the "Twilight House Band", and that they would like to see other artists contribute songs for the movies. Is this the last we'll hear of Paramore in connection to the Twilight Saga? I personally hope not.

Access Hollywood sent us another goodie today in the form of this behind-the-scenes video of Jacob's transformation:

Thanks once again to Rachel of Access Hollywood.

In related news, Tom Lennon says he and Paul Rudd should win Best Kiss because of the sheer difficulty of what they did, as opposed to Kristen's very easy task of kissing Rob Pattinson. I'm sure you will all agree... that it's easy enough to kiss Rob Pattinson, that is. :p

Also, Paramore campaigns for Twilight to win Best Kiss!

So, what do you think? Does Twilight deserve all the nominations? Would you actually vote for the film and the actors against that kind of competition? Let us know in the comments! :)

News Round-Up: 21 February 2009

Just when I thought the telenovela was over....

Variety reports that Summit Entertainment has greenlit Eclipse for production with a, get this, 30 JUNE 2010 release date. And we thought New Moon was in Production Express. The report also says that a director for Eclipse has yet to be chosen.

In relation to that, Entertainment Weekly says that Chris Weitz will definitely not direct Eclipse, as the production timelines for both New Moon and Eclipse will most likely overlap. Contrary to ancient reports, though, the two sequels will not be shot back-to-back, rather, Eclipse will begin production as New Moon goes into post-production. There is no official confirmation from Summit about this yet.

E! Online has an article about the New Moon logo and adds that their source inside Summit says that the movie will only be entitled "New Moon" and not "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" as MTV reported. They also mention the tidbit from OK! Magazine's 7 Secrets of New Moon about Paramore returning to perform a song for the sequel's soundtrack. However, Hayley Williams has commented via the band's official Livejournal that these reports are false.

Meanwhile, Nikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood Daily went and dug up the old issue of Catherine Hardwicke's departure from the franchise once again. Readers would remember that she was also the one who beat Summit Entertainment to announcing that Catherine will be replaced.

OK! Magazine caught up with 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord who is in talks to play Heidi in New Moon. "I am so disappointed but it doesn't look like it is going to happen with my schedule. But keep your fingers crossed for me. I hope that it still does!" Click here to read the full story.

News Round-Up: November 15

Summit Entertainment has announced that they have acquired the rights to make New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Melissa Rosenberg is attached to write the 2nd and 3rd sequel, but no writer is yet attached to the 4th. But while Summit has the option to make the films, there is no guarantee that they will indeed be made, and the fate of at least New Moon will still be dependent on how Twilight does in the box office.

MTV has revealed a new clip from the film. This one involves Tyler and the van. :)
