ECLIPSE DVD LOCAL UPDATE:

For those of you who haven't been following us on Twitter, we've been told by the distributors that the release date for the local version of the Eclipse DVD is on December 6, 2010. If there are any changes, we'll post it here. For sure, it'll definitely end up on our twitter feed first since it's faster. :) If you don't have twitter accounts, you can go here or just check out this blog and browse our recent tweets on the right side.

Also, Astrovision/Astroplus is offering the Eclipse DVD up for pre-order until November 2010. You will need to give a 200PHP downpayment, and there will be a free desk calendar or poster upon claiming. The stores are also raffling off 20 Eclipse DVDs. You are entitled to one raffle coupon for every 125PHP single receipt purchase in any Astrovision/Astroplus branch. The draw date is on November 12, 2010.

In connection with the DVD, Wrigley's in the US recently had an Eclipse promotion. Fans who have participated have been wonderful to share the video footage they unlocked. I'm sure these will be in the DVD, but if you can't wait, here's The Cullens and Bella's Choice on EclipseMovie.org.

I'm still kinda lazy about posting a longer feature about the new additions to the Breaking Dawn cast, but until then here are some other news bits that came up over the past weeks:

Kristen Stewart says that BD will change people's minds about Bella Swan on the LATimes. Also, on ETOnline: "I can't wait to see the baby." She talks a bit more during her interview with MTV Rough Cut: BD Updates :: "I haven't met my daughter yet." (And yes, people, she says there's gonna be feathers.)

Jackson Rathbone has expressed his opinion about Breaking Dawn in 3D:

"The 3-D world's more for that kind of action epic kind of quality, and that definitely is in the Twilight series, but I think it's more so about the connections we make in life. And I think that doesn't really...you don't need 3-D to show that. You just need to look into...you know, when Rob and Kristen look at each other as Edward and Bella and that spark happens, you don't need 3-D for that."

Jackson was also at the Scream Awards last week with Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed to accept the award for Best Fantasy Movie for Eclipse. Kristen received the award for Best Fantasy Actress. From the Scream Awards, we now move on to People's Choice, which is currently asking for nominations. And we can vote! The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is up for Favorite Movie and Favorite Drama Movie, Rob and Taylor for Favorite Movie Actor, and Kristen for Favorite Movie Actress. The trio are also in the shortlist for Favorite OnScreen Team and Favorite Movie Star Under 25. Go here for the nominations. (By the way, we can vote as guests.)

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" Local DVD is now available in most record bars nationwide. We're not sure as to why the release was earlier than the March 25 release that Pioneer Films has informed us, but hey, at least it was earlier! And based on the comments of those who have purchased the DVD, it seems that all the reported features are in there and of good quality.

CNN talked with Chris Weitz and Nikki Reed on their favorite scenes in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Reed's experiences with the Twilight fandom. Check out the interview below:



Also, Nikki Reed shared with People Magazine her difficulties while doing the stunts for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Komo got to interview Melissa Rosenberg about her experience as a screenwriter for the three movies in the Twilight franchise and working on her adaptation for Breaking Dawn. She also elaborated in this article in The Seattle Times on working with the different Twilight directors and with Stephenie Meyer.

ABC News Radio posted this video of Peter Facinelli talking about what we can expect from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, working with the younger cast, and which director he would like to work with in Breaking Dawn.

Cameron Bright, who plays the role of Alec, comments on their unique portrayal of the Volturi, and vampires in general, in the Twilight franchise (c/o MetroNews).

Examiner.com now has the full track list of the score for The Twilight Saga: New Moon from Alexandre Desplat. Fear.net compiled three of the New Moon clips that have been released the past few days. These contain the extended Bella birthday scene, a BellaxJacob scene, and a featurette on the Volturi. They also posted an interview with Melissa Rosenberg talking about her favorite scenes in New Moon along with writing the proposal scene.

Rotten Tomatoes has a list of the Top Ten New Moon Facts Revealed at Comic Con. Number 2 on the list sounds particularly encouraging with regards to book-to-movie adaptation for the discerning Twilight fan.

Just Jared has a few pictures of Kristen Stewart as she returns to her role as Joan Jett on The Runaways, with a quote from a Comic Con interview where she describes New Moon Bella as "manic-depressive".

EW.com has a video interview with Rachelle Lefevre, Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed. Definitely a fun video with pretty and smart people. :)

Time.com's Nerd World has a 12 Minute 49 second Interview with Director Chris Weitz, where they compare the pandemonium surrounding Rob with that of the Beatles, how Chris wasn't into the "blue gloss" color of the first movie and how he thinks he's "pretty fem" . Weitz also had this to say about where they are in post-prod:

I guess I should ask you about the actual movie. How done is it?

It's pretty done. It has to be done. It has to come out on November 20. Which means we sort of have to hand it over October 30. Which means the picture has to lock August 30. And so in a few weeks it'll be locked, the visual effects are in good shape, all the R&D on the more complicated, more ephemeral effects is being completed.

... and a couple more insightful comments on how they handled book-to-movie adaptation. (I keep pointing that out since people stress over that a lot.)

New Moon actor, Jamie Campbell Bower, gets crazy with Caius. Caius and crazy don't really go together, but JCB seems like he had fun with it. Was hoping someone would ask how he reacted to the fan consensus about him being too young to play a 3000-year old vampire.

Lastly, Twilight Source and Massively both report that, yes, it was inevitable. There are plans to make a TWILIGHT MMORPG*. In fact the game currently has its own website.

In an interview with the Examiner, Gardner described the Twilight video game as:

an open non-linear world set around Forks. I like the idea of letting players explore the world, and discover new amazing things that are not even covered in the book or the movie.

One really extremely crucial feature in the game engine that was licensed for the game is unlimited world streaming, and this feature allows for the game to go in an open, non-linear direction.

The game will be closely based to both Twilight and Midnight Sun allowing the player to play, and experience the story from either Bella’s or Edward’s perspective.

I’m thinking of including New Moon into the project as well. I really think it’s important to allow players to experience being human, vampire, or phasing into a werewolf.

Uh huh.

As both a Twilighter and a casual gamer familiar with both topics, I... have basically NO IDEA how to react to this yet. I can understand Twilight being a video game, but an MMO? (However, when I showed the article to my husband who happens to be in the gaming biz, he commented that it would be interesting and suggested players starting out as humans, then deciding if they were going to be part of the Vampire race or the Werewolf race. All after laughing his head off, of course.)

I'd support it, on a conditional basis. How about you guys? Would you play? And would you be vampire or werewolf?

Celebuzz interviewed Rene Haynes, the casting director who handled the tedious casting of the Native Americans who will be part of the Wolf Pack in New Moon. She talks, specifically, about Chaske Spencer and Alex Meraz, who are rumoured to have landed the roles of Sam and Paul, respectively. Police were called to Boston Latin School as rumours spread that vampires were roaming around the school. There is no word if these vampires are handsome and sparkly.

Style.com has posted the full article about Rob Pattinson that appears on the latest issue of GQ, entitled "He's Hot, He's Sexy, He's Undead". Twilight is nominated for Best Fantasy Film in the 35th Saturn Awards presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films. Twilight is up against pretty stiff competition (with no less than The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in the list), so keep your fingers crossed.

Twilight Italia is asking everyone to sign a petition for Summit to shoot the last part of New Moon in Volterra. They present a very convincing case, showing us in photos in videos the real places that Stephenie Meyer wrote about, including the alleyway where Bella finds Edward, the dead end with the manhole, the subterranean tunnels, the Clock Tower at Piazza del Priori, and more. Variety has also joined the ranks of the sites confirming that Juan Antonio Bayona has been chosen by Summit to direct Eclipse. While Variety is a very reliable source, nothing is really confirmed until Summit posts an official press release.  UPDATE 11:35am - Well, what do you know! I did say it's not confirmed unless Summit says so, right? Well the LA Times spoke to Erik Feig himself, the president of Summit, and he says that they haven't offered the Eclipse job to anyone. E! Online features a new video where the "Twilight Villains Talk New Moon".

In Episode 12 of the Danag Podcast, we mentioned Pocket Edward. We also mentioned that everyone seems to be working out, except for Rob. Well, at least Pocket Edward is working out enough for two people - himself and Life-Size Edward. There's even sparkly work-out equipment involved!

Spoiler TV has posted a LOT of photos from the set of New Moon. It looks like the pics were taken during dress rehearsals down in Vancouver. Peter is blonde again [poor Peter, I hope that's a wig. No matter, he still looks fabulous. -CdL], Jackson's hair is looking good [maybe because he's now actually bald and they don't have to deal with his real hair -CdL], Ashley's back in the short wig [uh, I kinda like the Twilight wig better... -CdL], Kellan's hair is dark again, Rob's hair is looking good [Dear make-up people, please don't touch Rob's hair. kthnxbai. -CdL], Taylor has that long wig again [ugh, they didn't change it! When he "cuts" his hair in the story, please don't slick it back, make-up people! More sites have picked up the news items about the line-up of possible Eclipse directors. MTV has written about Juan Antonio Bayona and they want your opinion, while Deadline Hollywood Daily seems pretty sure Bayona is IT.

Nikki Reed shares her Twilight hair and make-up woes and reveals she probably won't be dying her hair for New Moon.

MTV has some exclusive footage from the upcoming Twilight DVD. Once again, this will be out locally starting March 20. Video and record stores are now accepting reservations, and are giving away posters to those who reserve early.

[On a personal note, I really am turning into a Peter Facinelli fan. He has this Carlisle vibe, and he has a lot of fun doing all the Twilight promos. You can really feel it in his interviews, and he always sounds sincere and genuine.]
