With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

The action-packed, modern day vampire love story and blockbuster success of the first film in the series entitled TWILIGHT was released in theatres on November 21, 2008 grossing $69.6 million domestically during its first weekend. To date the film has grossed over $188 million domestically and over $362 million worldwide. The second installment of the film franchise, NEW MOON starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, will be released November 20, 2009.

Directed by Catherine Hardwicke and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Ashley Green, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Cam Gigandet, Edi Gathegi and Rachelle Lefevre, TWILIGHT will be available on DVD and VCD.

Viva Video has not released pricing information yet, so please don't keep asking us how much the DVDs are because we don't know either. :) According to them, they are still ironing out a few more details. They also haven't released photos of the Collector's Edition DVD and the Jewelry Box Set. We don't know if they're talking about the NECA Jewelry Set, in fact, we don't know what exactly the Jewelry Box set is yet. This is all the information we have for now. We will post additional details as soon as we have them.

UPDATE (2/20): For those who are asking if there will be a Blu-Ray version to be released locally, Viva Video says there won't be, at least for now. For those who want to get a Blu-Ray Disc, you can order them at Best Buy or Target ($29.99 plus shipping) in the U.S., where it will be released on March 21, or you can wait for it to be available from other retailers starting May 5. If you have a lot of money to spare ($80 plus shipping), check out the Amazon Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-Ray Set, which coincidentally also has a Jewelry Box, available starting May 5. It's possible this is similar to the one that will be in the Collector's Edition DVD that will be released here.

News Round-Up: 19 February 2009

Access Hollywood spoke to Peter Facinelli at the 11th Annual Costume Designers' Guild Awards, and Dr. Carlisle talked about his preparations for New Moon, which is expected to start shooting next month. Click here to watch the video. Thanks to Rachel of NBC-Access Hollywood for the alert.

MTV was at Toy Fair 2009, and they've put up this video interview with NECA's Director of Product Development, Randy Falk. NECA showcased their Twilight merchandise at the Fair, and revealed that, along with the Edward/Bella Action Figure Set and the Alice Cullen figure, they will be coming out with about 5 more action figures in time for the release of New Moon. Click here for our previous report about the new action figures.

Carter Burwell's work on the musical score for Twilight was nominated for Best Original Score for a Horror/Thriller Film at the International Film Music Critics Awards. Click here for more information.

If you're interested, you can now view the trailer for Twilight that's being shown in Japan for the release of the film over at Everglow.

Lastly, Entertainment Weekly is debunking the recent Internet rumours about Madonna (yes, THE Madonna) joining the cast of New Moon. But since Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, is a producer for the film, the people involved think it'll be cool if one of her songs will be included in the soundtrack. But that's exactly what the status of the whole thing is -- people think it's gonna be cool. There are no negotiations going on yet.

Question for the day: If Madonna will be in the New Moon soundtrack, which Madonna song do you think should be included and why, or do you think they should write an original song for her to perform specifically for the film? Please do comment. :)

News Round-Up: 17 February 2009

In a previous post, we reported that NECA is coming up with an Edward and Bella action figure set which is due out on May 2009. There are now pictures from a recent Toy Fair of an Alice Cullen action figure, also due out this year. Click here for a better view of Alice's face, and here for more photos of other NECA Twilight merchandise. Please remember that this is just a prototype figure and some details may change when it's finally released.

HitFlix.com is confirming that Rob Pattinson will be a presenter at the 81st Academy Awards, which will be airing this coming Sunday in the U.S., and Monday morning (Feb. 23) in the Philippines via ABS-CBN.

If you're planning a trip to Japan sometime next month, better plan it around the time that Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will be there to promote Twilight. :)

Just for fun: A law student on Livejournal wanted to take a little break from studying for the Bar Exam and decided to list the crimes that the Cullens have committed.

News Round-Up: January 31

Forbidden Planet has revealed the new NECA Edward and Bella 7" Action Figure 2-Pack. It is now available for pre-order at Forbidden Planet, and should retail for around £24.99 or PhP1,600.

In related news, the NECA 11.5" Edward Cullen Action Figure is now locally available at 2Rats (with branches in Greenhills, Goldcrest, and Eastwood), and retails for PhP1,200. Thanks to Bjie for the update.

The Los Altos Town Crier has an essay from a seventh-grader about how Twilight Invokes Multiple Genres to Serve Its Romance.

Collider.com has interviews with Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Edi Gathegi, and Rachelle Lefevre about New Moon.

PETA has awarded Twilight the 2008 Libby Award for the Most Animal Friendly Movie, which really boggled a lot of people since the Cullens drink animal blood. [There's probably a different criteria for this, because it's gonna be awkward if it turns out PETA didn't do their research and thought "vegetarian vampire" meant the Cullens eat vegetables.]

E! Online is asking "What's the scoop on the New Moon soundtrack?"

News Round-Up: January 9

Empire Online has selected the 50 Films That Defined 2008. Twilight is part of the list:

Twilight
The first adaptation of the cult novels boasts great performances and a stunning aesthetic. Scream!

Defining Moment
When Edward bites into Bella's flesh to extract nasty vampire poison, will he be able to resist feasting on her blood?

Click on the link above to view the complete list.

Catherine Hardwicke will be inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame. Click here to read the full story.

Hot Topic
now also has the NECA Edward Cullen Action Figure up for pre-order on their site. MTV also has an article about it here.

Reelz Channel has a video update about New Moon.

Spoiler.tv got a hold of the casting call for New Moon here. The first thing I noticed was that Aro was missing from the list. Fortunately, Lana Veenker, who was one of the casting directors for Twilight, has just posted an update about New Moon on her blog, and she also answered my question:

"If a major role is not listed on the breakdown at all, this usually means that the role has been cast, is currently in negotiation or is only open to name actors, so the CDs (casting directors) are not seeking submissions from talent agents at this time."

[This really got me thinking... could this have anything to do with it? No, no, CdL. Don't get your hopes up too much...]

News Round-Up: January 6

MTV gives us a list of what the Twilight cast will be working on this year. Looks like the busiest person on the cast is Cam Gigandet. [Mabs will be so happy.]  Ashley Greene talks further about Shrink and working with Kevin Spacey here.

Twilight is still earning some money and is set to jump over Madagascar 2 to the #7 spot in 2008's list of Highest Grossing Films.

The Reelz Channel Spotlight has a new feature on Twilight here.

I just discovered an interesting site called The-Numbers.com - or at least it's interesting to movie buffs like me. Some of you may know about this already, but let me share it, nonetheless, to those who don't. The site provides Box Office numbers and DVD sales figures, but the neat thing you can do on their site that I really like is to check the total Box Office Earnings of your favorite actors based on their movies' earnings. For example, here's the worldwide box office earnings of all of Robert Pattinson's movies to date ($2.1 BILLION. wow.) Here's Kristen Stewart's chart ($688.9 MILLION only, despite having more movies than Rob. Harry Potter is a big factor.)   You can access the website here.   Have some numerical fun! :)

UPDATED TO ADD:

HisGoldenEyes.com has a report on something rather disturbing about the Twilight Perfume which was recently released by Hot Topic. Apparently, the apple-shaped bottle is almost identical to the bottle design of the Nina perfume by Nina Ricci. Perez Hilton and Trendhunter.com also made that observation. [Photo Credit: HisGoldenEyes]

MTV has a clip with Edi Gathegi in his new movie, My Bloody Valentine 3D here.

Twilight Series Theories has an interview with Christian Serratos (Angela Weber) here.

The Hollywood Reporter has an article about directors working in the current financial climate. The piece mentions Catherine Hardwicke and her recent departure from the Twilight franchise. Click here to read the article.

The trailer for The Summerhouse, Rob Pattinson's new indie film that's set to be released in April is now online. You can see it via YouTube.
