Atlantic Records has officially announced the release of the New Moon soundtrack on their site.

Curious about some of the artists in the OST? Here's two features: St. Vincent talked to MTV about their inclusion in the album. Meanwhile, Hurricane Bells explains to EW how they got a song in.

On Eclipse, EOnline now has Melissa Rosenberg commenting on the darker turn the movie's going with director David Slade.

"David has a darker sensibility, so it clicks," Rosenberg said. "The story has a slightly darker tone. I mean, it goes into a full-out battle, so it is darker in the nature of what it is. David was the perfect director for it."

I don't mind as long as the leg-hitch scene and the proposal--"I promise to love you forever, every single day of forever"--is there. Hopefully, that line won't end up like the lion-lamb line that still makes our skin crawl whenever we watch it. (We already know the tent scene is there, so no worries about that.)

Thanks to Amala_Thea for the heads-up, we now know that New Moon will have a preview at the Rome International Film Festival, same as Twilight last year. The news bit is here but it's in Italian. :P

Nordstrom's Twilight tees are being modelled by the interns over on MTV. Here they are wearing two of the wolf pack shirts (guest starring Cam Gigandet! He doesn't wear them, though. Haha.) & two with the Cullen and Volturi crests.

After seeing Cam Gigandet win Best Fight with Rob at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, we here at TCP are really starting to miss seeing Cam on the big screen. But it looks like he's going back to his blood-sucking ways in an upcoming movie adaptation of the comic book entitled Priest, which is "set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece." Cam will be playing one of the murderous band of vampires going up against Paul Bettany as the Priest. Will he be channeling a bit of James? We'll see. E! Online's Marc Malkin got a hold of the casting notices for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and reveals 3 of the roles on the list:

Riley "is a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to Victoria." He's in his early to mid 20s and "plays an integral role in Victoria's attempt to murder Bella Swan."

"Seth Clearwater is a tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin. Seth idolizes Jacob."

Leah Clearwater - "She is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair. She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues."

MTV got confirmation from Drew Barrymore herself that, though she was one of several directors who were being considered to direct Eclipse, ultimately, she wasn't the one who was chosen.

MTV's Larry Carroll asks the question "Is there any truth to all the tales of Twilight-related violence on the web?" Larry has asked Twilight fans to share their experiences. This article comes at the heels of all the reports from other sites who have picked up the stories being posted at the Twilight Sucks site. [I've seen that message board. Sigh. No comment.   -CdL]

The Deadbolt had a Vancouver encounter with Peter Facinelli. [OMC, Peter should win that award some group gives to actors who are very accommodating of fans. I forgot what it's called, but I remember Johnny Depp won it several times.   -CdL]

Entertainment Tonight visited the New Moon set, and they've posted a teaser video for the feature which will air April 23 in the U.S. Watch for it locally on 2nd Avenue on April 24th.

Well, this is interesting. E! Online interviewed Alex Meraz at the Armani Exchange party. And I guess the "Rob smells" thing isn't over and done with for them yet, so they asked Alex if it was true. Apparently, when Alex first met Rob, here's what happened:

ALEX to ROB: Dude, you smell fantastic!
ROB: *blushes, does the hair thing*

Some New Moon-related tidbits for y'all as the cast finishes up with rehearsals and leaves Vancouver to prepare for film shoots to start in the coming days.

On MTV News: Edi Gathegi, who reprises his role as Laurent, praised the new script and says the film will be "a lot more active [than Twilight]." It has to be, with werewolves and cliff-jumping, right? Except the latter will be accomplished by a CGI'd Bella, according to costar Kristen Stewart. Yes, no extreme sport-stuntwork for KStew (or her body doubles) this time around. Read the full stories here and here.

And speaking of my favorite Bella, reporters have been sneaking in New Moon-related questions in the middle of Kristen's "Adventureland" (which premiered in the U.S. yesterday) promotions. Youtube has some bits from MaximoTV and EXTRA. In an interview with E! Online, she also expresses her view of her second Twilight movie as: "I can’t wait to see how [Jacob] is able to pull [Bella] out, but he does. She’s like a zombie and he’s the light. It’s such a tragic story. It’s like, ‘That’s who I should be with, but I’m totally in love with the guy I shouldn’t be with.’ Girls are like that. It’s relatable." Of course, topmost on the things she's looking forward to is having Taylor back as Jacob and says they're all "very proud of him." [minamic: I hope this means Kristen will be in her comfort zone with Taylor, and she'll be able to show us the wonderful actress that went into hiding because of her awkwardness with Robert. I'd really love to see how she'll be able to portray her character. New Moon-Bella, with all her emotional incapacities, should be an interesting challenge.]

A fan was able to chat with Peter Facinelli at the recent UK Twilight convention where he comments that Edward will have "better sparkles than in Twilight"! [Yey! *crosses fingers*]

RPattz was at an Arkansas Wal-Mart recently to promote the release of the Twilight DVD, where he relates his own thoughts about New Moon, and says that Edward was "the first time he has played a real masculine character." (You can search for vids of this visit taken by fans up on youtube.) Sadly, I think I read somewhere that he referenced his "unwashed hair" again at the event. Sigh. [Oh Rob. I fangirl you, but we really don't need to hear about that... Again. Jovan and I will wash your hair for you if you visit though.]

Director Chris Weitz was caught hanging out with the wolves, albeit while shopping for cars for his vamps. And, oh my, Taylor is looking mighty fine! Despite the height requirement, he is shaping up to be Jacob quite nicely, no pun intended. RPattz, better not let up on those weights you've just recently started lifting!

On a last note, we'd like to share Vanity Fair's awesome awesome AWESOME photoshoot recreating scenes from The West Side Story. And wouldn't you know it, Twilight enemies Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet landed minor roles as part of the Jets, supporting Ben Barnes' main hero, Tony. (Camilla Belle plays Maria.) [Wow. Ben, Cam, and Rob in one pic together! Sorry, Daene. Looks like this was dedicated to us angels. Hehe.] Unfortunately, it's just a shoot, and though Rob and Cam only get background duty, the slight glimpse of them having fun and letting loose is so worth it!

Besides, we can always wait for outtakes.

MTV gives us a list of what the Twilight cast will be working on this year. Looks like the busiest person on the cast is Cam Gigandet. [Mabs will be so happy.]  Ashley Greene talks further about Shrink and working with Kevin Spacey here.

Twilight is still earning some money and is set to jump over Madagascar 2 to the #7 spot in 2008's list of Highest Grossing Films.

I just discovered an interesting site called The-Numbers.com - or at least it's interesting to movie buffs like me. Some of you may know about this already, but let me share it, nonetheless, to those who don't. The site provides Box Office numbers and DVD sales figures, but the neat thing you can do on their site that I really like is to check the total Box Office Earnings of your favorite actors based on their movies' earnings. For example, here's the worldwide box office earnings of all of Robert Pattinson's movies to date ($2.1 BILLION. wow.) Here's Kristen Stewart's chart ($688.9 MILLION only, despite having more movies than Rob. Harry Potter is a big factor.)   You can access the website here.   Have some numerical fun! :)

HisGoldenEyes.com has a report on something rather disturbing about the Twilight Perfume which was recently released by Hot Topic. Apparently, the apple-shaped bottle is almost identical to the bottle design of the Nina perfume by Nina Ricci. Perez Hilton and Trendhunter.com also made that observation. The LA Times has published part 2 of their interview with Catherine Hardwicke in today's edition of their Twilight Countdown. One of the many interesting things that Catherine talked about is the real story behind Rob and his involvement in the creation of Bella's Lullaby. She was also asked about her collaboration with Nikki Reed, and in her answer, she mentioned Nikki playing "Rosalie Cullen" in Twilight. No, this doesn't seem to be a mistake. We've read the production notes for the film from Summit, and all throughout, Rosalie and Jasper were referred to as Rosalie and Jasper Cullen. In the Teen Vogue Cast Interview, Jackson Rathbone also referred to his character as Jasper Cullen. So this seems to be a change that the writers made, most likely to make things simpler for the people who haven't read Twilight and are being introduced to the Saga for the first time via the movie. Lastly, Entertainment Weekly has a very revealing interview with Stephenie Meyer. Why revealing? In an unpublished segment of Episode 1 of Danag, we discussed the Midnight Sun Issue, and it was a collective opinion among the panelists that we thought Stephenie should have asked her publicists to write her statement for her instead of posting such an emotional letter on her site. It turns out, her publicists did write that letter, as she herself revealed in this EW interview. Whoa. Steph also revealed how she felt after watching a preview of Twilight, her thoughts about Rob [best description of Rob that I've ever read and totally agree with, thank you, Steph!], the fan reception for Breaking Dawn, and more about her planned books [now those sirens really sound interesting....].

This is unfortunately not available in iTunes if you're in the Philippines. :( The iTunes Exclusive is also the 2nd variant of the soundtrack, the first being the Borders Exclusive that contains the acoustic version of "Decode" by Paramore.

Several new videos have also surfaced: a 3rd TV spot with a few seconds' worth of new scenes, a whole scene via MSN, and a Behind-the-Scenes video posted by Borders Media.

MTV spoke to Kellan Lutz about the bands and fan music inspired by Harry Potter and Twilight. He's glad that the two book series spawned such great musical acts, and wishes that someone would make a John Grisham-inspired one. (LOL!) And in typical Emmett humor, he adds:

“There should be an Emmett band! Big old guys who are hunters, singing. With big grizzly beards. Emmett and the Cullens. Hey, let’s start it!”

TwilightNews.co.uk managed to catch up with Cam Gigandet when he was in London. They've posted their interview transcript here. Cam talked about James and Victoria, the games he played with Edi Gathegi on set, his tattoos, and what it's like to work with the other actors in Twilight. The patented Cam Pout which we first saw in the San Diego Comic Con Twilight panel also reappeared when he was reminded that James only appears in the first book/movie. From what we've seen of him on Twilight, we really wish Cam would be in the other movies, because, well... he doesn't disappoint! ;) Hey, maybe he could appear as another character if Summit decides to make the other movies....

The Entertainment Weekly issue featuring Robert Pattinson on the cover should be out on November 7 in U.S. newsstands.

Cam Gigandet, who portrays James in the upcoming Twilight movie, is on this week’s Twilight Tuesday on MTV. He shares how he got into acting, his previous works, his Twilight audition, and his take on portraying the sinister James. He also goes into detail on how he and Robert Pattinson got covered in chicken, honey, Swiss cheese (so just imagine that while watching the movie) during their fight scene.

As we've reported before, Perry Farrell (formerly of Jane's Addiction) is contributing a song to the Twilight movie soundtrack. MTV reveals more details on the song, entitled Go All the Way. In a statement by Farrell, this song "conjures up that adolescent feeling when a young man, who has been pursuing a girl he really likes, finally gets her. It's about the intense emotions when they go all the way."

MTV has a report about the gigantic Russell Brand backlash.  The Twilight stars were at the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend for a much-hyped appearance as presenters.  Unfortunately, Rob Pattinson's one-liner in the VMA spotlight was eclipsed by Russell Brand's babbling.  Now, legions of Twilighters are taking to the Internet, all but ready to send Brand to the Volturi for some disciplining.  More about this story including a video of the segment from the VMAs at MTV.
