Twilight Coven Philippines

As excitement for the release of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" started to build, Ayala Malls Cinemas, in cooperation with Powerbooks and Twilight Coven Philippines (TCP), launched the New Moon Backtracks series held in various Powerbooks branches in Ayala Malls around Metro Manila.

First in the series was a New Moon Refresher, held at Powerbooks Trinoma on 14 November 2009. The four TCP administrators facilitated the event, talking about movie adaptations in general and the major plot points of the New Moon book. The discussion focused on the pre-production process of New Moon and what audiences can expect from the upcoming movie. Participants also got to join in the games to test their New Moon knowledge and win prizes from Powerbooks.

The succeeding events were two movie review discussions, held separately on 21 and 22 November 2009 in Powerbooks Greenbelt and Alabang Town Center respectively. During these events, participants got to air their thoughts regarding different aspects of the New Moon movie -- production and technical, direction, actors' performances, and adaptation. With the movie still fresh in the minds of the participants, most of them made inevitable comparisons to Twilight, and also remarked on their favorite aspects of the movie. Games were also conducted for the participants to get to know each other, and also to challenge their memory of the details that were shown in the movie.

Thank you to everyone who attended the New Moon Backtracks series. We surely had fun reminiscing the book and then rehashing the movie only days after it was released in the Philippines.

Pinoy Twilighters got another chance to combine their love for Twilight and music in this year's The Twilight Saga: New Moon Soundtrack Launch by Warner Music Philippines. The event was held in SM Megamall Activity Center on November 13, 2009 at 6PM and was made possible by Warner Music Philippines, Pioneer Films, Magic 89.9, SM Megamall, National Bookstore, Friendster, Water Plus, Candy Magazine, Yoshinoya, Trigger Happy, and Twilight Coven Philippines.

True to form, just like last year's event, the attendees were treated to food, music, and games in order to celebrate the release of the The Twilight Saga: New Moon movie soundtrack. The participants had free food and drinks from Yoshinoya and Water Plus, plus free issues of Candy Magazine. People also had fun posing for unlimited pictures at the Trigger Happy photobooth.

The event was hosted by Junior Jock Curtis from Magic 89.9, while Twilight Coven Philippines assisted in the facilitation of the games. The games were all geared towards testing the attendees' knowledge of the soundtrack. Participants also got a chance to win advance screening tickets to The Twilight Saga: New Moon, plus New Moon posters, shirts, sampler cds, and Warner Music planners.

The musical acts were definitely the highlight of the event, as bands covered songs featured in the Twilight soundtrack. Gracenote covered Paramore's "I Caught Myself" and "Decode", followed by BlueBoyBitesBack, who covered MuteMath's "Spotlight (Twilight Mix)". Both bands also performed their own music. The event ended with a performance from Urbandub, who also performed in last year's Twilight soundtrack launch event.
