Since we got some pretty biting and accusing comments about forgetting this issue, please be informed that we still haven't gotten a reply from Viva after our last e-mail to them regarding their statement. In fact, this week, we sent them yet another e-mail asking about the status of our previous inquiry.

We have not forgotten this issue because like YOU, we also bought the DVD with our hard-earned money.

We promised to post information when we have it, but unfortunately, WE DON'T HAVE IT.

We are all for giving people time to respond to our queries because we do not want them to give us half-baked answers. We do not want the distributors to think that we are just a bunch of impatient emo Twilight fans. We have a strategy, and we plan to course this issue to the proper channels.

As always, we will inform everyone when we have further information. If you are getting impatient and simply just can't wait, then go ahead and do what you want to do, okay? :p

Hello, everyone. We just received this e-mail from Viva Video.

To TWILIGHTERS / TWILIGHT FANS:

As most of you are aware, the 2-Disc DVD Special Edition of TWILIGHT was released in the Philippines this past weekend. The 1st disc contains the full feature or movie in its entirety. The 2nd disc contains the DVD extras or DVD add-ons licensed to us by the international licensor. Such content are confined and limited to the rights granted to us by Summit Entertainment. The release of the Twilight video is in accordance with the Licence Agreement between Viva and Summit Entertainment.

As we are not privy to the international licensor's arrangements with its various licensees worldwide, we have no control over the contents and timing of their own DVD releases. Rest assured, we endeavored to bring the movie to the local market at the earliest possible time. We were the 2nd country in Asia to release the movie in theaters. On video, we released almost simultaneous with the title's US video release.

As a company engaged in video distribution for the last 25 years, rest assured that our TWILIGHT 2-Disc DVD Special Edition provides unbelievable value to local Twilighters, Twilight Fanatics, and movie fans.

Hey, guys. We got word from Viva regarding the Twilight DVD reservation freebies.

Notepads are just an add-on item for those who purchased the Twilight DVD in any Odyssey outlet, but the posters are given to those who made reservations.

The notepads might only be of limited quantity, so not everyone who buys at Odyssey are guaranteed to get one. This really is more of a concern for people who reserved DVDs and got notepads instead of posters. Also, some branches of stores apparently do not have freebies. They should have told you before you reserved.

Viva is requesting that we inform them if there are outlets who did not follow their instructions. If you reserved a DVD within the promo period and you received a notepad INSTEAD OF a poster, please let us know by posting a comment or e-mailing us at:

Please indicate in which store and branch you got your DVD.

We assume Viva is still investigating the issue with the missing features in the DVD itself, because they haven't answered our queries about that yet. Today is the first business day after the complaints came in, so let's give them some time. Thanks for everyone's patience. :)

NEW MOON PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY UPDATES: Twilight Gossip has photos of Bella's truck with the old motorcycles she will bring to Jacob for rehab. Click here to see the pics. Spoiler TV has some set photos from the cliff diving scene shoots at Incinerator Rock in Tofino, British Columbia. The Canadian Press also has a substantial report about the shoot at Tofino here.

Twilighters Italia has confirmation from the Tourism Association of Montepulciano in Italy that New Moon will be shooting there from May 25 to May 30. There has been talk from a few weeks back that Montepulciano will serve as an alternative location for the Volterra scenes in New Moon. Montepulciano's architecture looks a lot like Volterra's, and it's possible that the city has more resources to cater to a film crew as large as New Moon's compared to Volterra. Montepulciano is apparently also more accessible. Twilighters Italia's report adds that it is still possible certain scenes will be shot in Volterra itself. NOTE #2: We would like to ask all who will comment on this post to please calm down before you post. Some people have said very harsh words (e.g. "scam") about Viva and this issue. Please remember that Viva is a legitimate distributor, and that the missing features are likely a quality control issue (at least in the case of the 7-part Documentary). While, like all of you, we at TCP are also very disappointed with our purchases, we are appealing to everyone to please calm down. It's okay to express your disappointment, but please do not hurl any harsh accusations before we have heard Viva's side in this issue. Thanks.

NOTE: We have e-mailed Viva about these issues. Please keep checking TCP, we will post their reply once we get it. Remember that when everyone started sending Viva their feedback, it was a weekend. Let's give them time to address the issues in the next few workdays. Please be patient. :)

Once again, this is a reminder that the Twilight DVD went on-sale yesterday, March 20th, as previously announced. Specific places to find them: Odyssey stores, Astrovision stores, Music One, Fully Booked BHS. We're not sure if they're already available in Department Stores.

Some stores only have the VCDs on display because all their DVDs have been reserved. We hope that the people who didn't reserve will still be able to find copies. Don't say we didn't warn you, though. ;)

REGARDING THE FREE POSTER: In our previous posts, we said that some stores are offering free posters for early reservations. Indeed, when you reserved, you would have been told whether or not you are eligible to get one poster per DVD, or you would have been told if you asked. :)

Some people got the poster pictured above. Some people got a HUGE theatrical poster. We have no idea why the posters are different, sorry.

REGARDING OTHER FREEBIES: We weren't aware that certain stores will be giving away notepads instead of posters. If they told you outright when you reserved that you will get a poster but you got a notepad instead, you have every right to complain to the store. If all the store's advertising materials suggest you will get a poster when you reserve, complain. But we really hope that you clarified all of this when you reserved.

REGARDING THE MISSING AUDIO COMMENTARIES: We checked the e-mails that Viva sent us. The first press release said there will be Audio Commentaries. The second press release didn't list it, but it was listed in our post. Audio Commentaries are pretty standard across different editions of other non-Twilight DVDs we have personally encountered, and we assumed this was an oversight on Viva's part. We sent Viva an email back in March 3 to ask if, indeed, the Audio Commentaries were not included. We never got a reply, and consequently, we forgot to update the Features list to delete the Commentaries. For this mistake, WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE. However, you will have to ask Viva why, of all the standard features, the Commentary wasn't included when we actually got most of what's in the U.S. editions in the first place, plus the ones that Australia has.

OTHER KNOWN ISSUES:

- We received reports that there are no set-up controls for audio and subtitles. (After a review of the press release, we noticed that there are no subtitles listed either even thought that is also a standard feature. Weird.)

- We received reports that "The Adventure Begins: The Journey From Page to Screen" contains only 1 part of the supposed 7-part Documentary. Sanity Australia listed this feature as having a 54-minute running time, and is composed of the following parts:
1. The Beginning
2. The Partnership: A Look at Pre-Production
3. Vampires
4. Capturing the Action: A Look at Production
5. Vampire Baseball
6. The Final Word on the Final Battle
7. Putting It All Together: The Magic of Post-Production
The copy of one of the TCP members only has Part 1 ("The Beginning" - runs for roughly 2 minutes). We are not sure if this is just a glitch in the copy of the person who reported it to us. If your copy has all the parts, please do let us know so we can update this post. Sadly, as it turns out, this is not a glitch. People who commented on this post reported the same problem. :(

- (NEW ISSUE) There are people complaining that the movie is not DVD quality, only VCD quality. We have yet to verify this, but we'll consult some technical people about it. You'll also find the same complaints in Pinoy DVD/Video forums.

Other comments and issues will be added as we receive them.

Viva did not pursue the previously announced Collector's Edition DVD because they wanted to keep everything affordable for the fans.

NOTE (2/4): Before you guys totally ditch the local special edition because there are no freebies, remember this -- the last 6 special features listed above are NOT available in the 2-Disc Special Edition DVD releases in the U.S. So far, those features are only included in the 3-Disc Deluxe Edition being offered by Target (who doesn't deliver to the Philippines) and in some Special Blu-Ray releases (Target, Sanity Australia). Viva Video has not released pricing information yet, so please don't keep asking us how much the DVDs are because we don't know either. :) According to them, they are still ironing out a few more details. They also haven't released photos of the Collector's Edition DVD and the Jewelry Box Set. We don't know if they're talking about the NECA Jewelry Set, in fact, we don't know what exactly the Jewelry Box set is yet. This is all the information we have for now. We will post additional details as soon as we have them.

UPDATE (2/20): For those who are asking if there will be a Blu-Ray version to be released locally, Viva Video says there won't be, at least for now. For those who want to get a Blu-Ray Disc, you can order them at Best Buy or Target ($29.99 plus shipping) in the U.S., where it will be released on March 21, or you can wait for it to be available from other retailers starting May 5. If you have a lot of money to spare ($80 plus shipping), check out the Amazon Ultimate Collector's Edition Blu-Ray Set, which coincidentally also has a Jewelry Box, available starting May 5. It's possible this is similar to the one that will be in the Collector's Edition DVD that will be released here.

Given the line-up of movies for 2009, Entertainment Weekly dubs the year as the Year of the Werewolf. As expected, New Moon is included as one of the movies contributing to this title.

Now for our star werewolf, Tribute has an article on Taylor Lautner getting the role for Jacob Black. To more, ahem, interesting news, let's check out Taylor's progress in the physical department. Taylor has an interview by E! regarding beefing up for his role in New Moon. UPDATE (1/8): ShockTillYouDrop is reporting that the US release for the DVD is March 21. This date is still unconfirmed by Summit.

Catherine Hardwicke spoke to MTV about the Twilight DVD which is due to be released next year. She revealed details about the commentaries, deleted scenes, bloopers, montages, and other exciting stuff that she wants to include. She also talked about her recording session with Rob and Kristen for the commentaries.

Rosario Dawson, Rob Pattinson's co-star in his next movie, Parts Per Billion, reveals more about the movie and Rob's role in it. [Sounds interesting.]

Like everyone else in the industry, Reelz Channel is chiming in with their choices for who should helm New Moon.

For those with a more technical interest in the Twilight film, Make-Up Artist Jeanne Van Phue reveals her make-up techniques for the film, and in the same article, we see the character sketches that she used as reference for the look of some of the characters for the first time. In another website, she specifically described Nikki Reed's make-up regimen for Rosalie.

In today's installment of the New Moon Telenovela: Celebuzz is reporting that Taylor Lautner is definitely out, and now NewMoonMovie.org is reporting that Michael Copon (Scorpion King, One Tree Hill) might just have gotten that role. Also, Entertainment Weekly seems fairly certain that Chris Weitz is indeed about to be hired as the new pilot of the New Moon Express. [Please take all of these stories with a grain of good quality salt mined from First Beach, after all, Summit hasn't released an official statement, and one of these sites is reporting that the new actor that will take on the Jacob role should have good chemistry with Kristen Bell (NOTE THE SARCASM). Just sayin'.]
